Clearance Shopping Tip #14:

Clearance happens at the end of each Season or Holiday.  So even though January is deemed “Clearance Month”, don’t forget to keep watching for those bright red or orange tags throughout the rest of the year.  At the end of each Season or right after a Holiday, you will see those red tags popping up everywhere in stores.  Some will be hidden on the inside end-caps, like I talked about in a previous clearance shopping tip.  And because there isn’t as much on clearance, you could easily miss it.

What is your helpful clearance tip??  Leave a comment below and get another entry into our #F2D15DayChallenge.  30 People will be winning Target Gift Cards!

Don’t forget that you can also snap a pic of a clearance deal you have found in store and share it on YOUR Instagram page tagging @Freebies2Deals with the hashtags #F2D15DayChallenge and #Clearance.  If you do that, you will get another entry into the Giveaway!

**More details over here, if you missed the first announcement.

  1. If a store has a price checker for customers, always scan your clearance items to see if there are additional savings! I find that most clearance items are cheaper than the price tag says!

    • I’ve mentioned this to Walgreens’. Many times things are in a clearance section but, do not have the price marked. Very frustrating!! I hate to wait in line to just price check but, I do.

  2. For department stores, like JCPenney, they will let you put stuff on hold for 24 hours. So in case you don’t have a coupon with you. You can wait until the next day and most likely will be one to use like I did. Posted already on Instagram.

  6. Look high and low for those deals on the shelves. If I can’t see up high (I’m 5 ft tall) I ask my so very patient hubby to look for me. 🙂

  7. Walk the perimeter of the store before going through the aisles. A lot of stores but clearance on the end caps–especially walmart and target.

  8. I like to scope out the ends of the aisles and look out for Clearance ballons and signs.

  9. Just because it is on clearance, doesn’t mean it is a good deal. Always check the prices to see.

  11. Looking carefully for those clearance items is important. I’ve found that at Target and Walmart, they’re not in just one section. Throughout different departments they’ll have a shelf or aisle end dedicated to clearance items for that department. I found small, vinyl covered notebooks 3 for 25 cents at Wal Mart Monday.
