When you hear the words goals or new years resolutions, your eyes may roll and you may think “It NEVER works!” I’ve been reading a bit about how to make a goal and actually make that goal successful for me. I came across this Mindtools website and really loved what they had to say. Be sure to check it out! Here are the 5 tips they give when making a goal:

When making a goal you need to make them SMART goals. This is what you need to have in mind when making a goal. Each goal should be:

  1. Specific (simple, sensible, significant).
  2. Measurable (meaningful, motivating).
  3. Achievable (agreed, attainable).
  4. Relevant (reasonable, realistic and resourced, results-based).
  5. Time bound (time-based, time limited, time/cost limited, timely, time-sensitive).

I love this 5 step plan to make a goal. It helps me look at all aspects of my new years plans and lead me with goals that are actually achievable.

When looking at all aspects of my life, I like to make  goals for my Physical, Spiritual, Emotional and Mental health. I put education in my mental health category. How can you make 2021 great? Think of those aspect of your life and what you want to do better or achieve and then go through the 5 steps with those thoughts and make a goal that will be awesome.
