This time of year can easily turn into a stressful time of year—- if we let it. But keeping a good perspective and being reminded about what Christmas is truly about can help you slow down and make the holidays a special time for you and your family.
If you haven’t seen this video that has been floating around everywhere, I encourage you and your family to take 2 minutes to watch it. After watching it, my 3-year-old son said, “Wow, that was cool!”. And considering the video was simple, short and to-the-point, I know he felt something when he watched. And that was exactly what I was hoping for.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this video! We do a Christmas countdown each year that we read a scripture each night and do a Christmas activity during the day, I want my kids to understand that Christmas is about more than just the gifts we receive. We watched this video at the beginning of our countdown and the kids loved it!

Thank you for sharing this video. I think it is so important for kids to learn that it is a season of GIVING not RECEIVING. That’s the only reason anyone gets any gifts! We try to spend the month leading up until Christmas doing random acts of service (cookies to police and firefighters, small treat in the mailbox for the mail carrier, dollars left in the dollar store toys, etc.). It’s not just for the kids, it helps me remember the reason for the season too!

Yesterday I was about to have a nervous break down because of the overwhelming feeling of not being ready for Christmas with all the gifts I still have to buy and wondering if I have forgotten anyone so they won’t feel left out.
