Are you a big Freebies2Deals Fan? If so, I need your help! I will be launching my own show in January and while I have a lot of it all mapped out and the ideas are flowing, I would LOVE to have your input as well. I mean, Freebies2Deals wouldn’t be what it is without you and knowing what kind of video content you want to see definitely helps the entire process!
First of all, with all of your input on the actual show name, I’m excited to announce that “Melea” or “The Melea Show” will be the official name of the show!! WOOT-WOOT!! So thank you for all of your comments and suggestions on that! (Winners will be announced shortly) And for those of you who don’t know, this show will go hand-in-hand with everything I’ve been doing and will continue to do here on Freebies2Deals. So don’t worry! 🙂
With that said, I need to put together a fun Freebies2Deals Focus Group! For all of you who live in Utah, McDonald’s has graciously offered to host us at their District location in South Jordan, Utah and to let us eat all of their YUMMY “Create Your Taste” food for FREE! (If you haven’t tried it yet, it is seriously amazing food. I was blown away!) But we only have room for 20 people in our focus group. So if you are interested, here is what I am looking for:
- Readers who have a bunch of great segment ideas for my new show that focus around the idea of “Living the Ultimate Life for Less”.
- Readers who have been actively watching my most recent YouTube Videos I have been putting up to give input on. (If you haven’t done that yet, or didn’t know about the YouTube Videos, you can do so quickly over here to get caught up.)
- Readers who love what myself and Freebies2Deals stands for, understands the family-values of this site and has a clear idea of what kind of content I want to produce and release.
- Available Thursday, January 14th from 6:30pm to about 8:30pm at the District McDonald’s, 11374 S. River Heights Dr., South Jordan. **No kids allowed. Adults only.

First, congratulations! I have followed your blog for so many years that it is fun to see what it has evolved to. I still get on your blog everyday to take advantage of the freebies that work for me and my family. I never buy anything online without double checking your blog to make sure I get the best deal.
I have a lot of ideas for different segments surrounding the “Living the Ultimate Life For Less.” My idea to share would be an episode showing how easy it is to make “freebies” a part of your everyday routine. I think a lot of people think couponing isn’t always worth the time and prep to get the deal. But, if viewers were educated on how easy it is to plan a normal day out and save money without much more effort at all.
My very favorite YouTube video is the one on saving money for Hawaii because we are taking our family in March and I appreciate your education on saving money on a trip that can seem financially overwhelming. But, in the last 3 months I really liked the ideas on the Mens Stocking Stuffers. I have four boys and so the ideas were helpful for my husband and teenagers as well.

I would love to be a part of the focus group because I am a frugal shopper and have a knack for being able to shop great deals. I see value in your blog and what it brings to the readers and how it has educated me to implement “saving” in my daily routine. I have been told by people I should text them when I find great deals…but I believe it’s not by chance but by understanding the systems, being educated to do so or asking the right questions. I love your blog and have so many times I have saved money. Even yesterday, I was at Target and got a free Jamba all because I saw on your blog I could show my RedCard. I also love Amazon Smile, I think you could do a segment on all the in’s and outs of Amazon and their Prime membership, plus put in a bit about Amazon Smile (out PTA just set up for donations). I usually do not have time to watch your youtube channel so I do not meet that part of the criteria to be in your focus group, but if you need another person I would love to travel down to meet you and others. I wish I could come, I live right next to that McDonalds, and I’ve been following you since way back in the day! But I have plans tomorrow night. I do have a segment suggestion though. I used to coupon like crazy on groceries, like full blown binder, file system, get free stuff all the time, you get the picture. But as I’ve gotten older and more into health and fitness, I’ve almost stopped altogether. It just feels like there are so few deals on healthy, whole foods that it’s not worth my time. I have 4 kids and it has gotten to the point where time is more valuable than money. I would love to come to your focus group because A) I am obsessed with finding good deals and get ridiculously giddy about theml. B) I love your site, all that you stand for, and who you are able to reach with your platform. I check your site more than facebook and think you do a fantastic job of organizing, wording posts, and making the deal finding easy to follow and understand. C) I was on The Biggest Loser and spent several months in production so who knows if I could lend any tv input but I’m happy to if I can! D) Some great segments would be things like how to get a “gym worthy” workout without a membership, healthy eating on a budget, How to pricematch without stressng you or the cashier out, planning for meals and being prepared for the upcoming week, cutting down on negative self talk and not comparing, etc.

I would love to be in your focus group! An idea I have is how to use all your good deals on food in my own kitchen! I get great deals on meat and produce but have no idea how to prepare them. So not necessarily a cooking show but even just how to prepare a simple something. Or how to marinade properly with things we would have in our storage from deals.. Stuff like that.
My favorite video was your contouring one. I bought a kit and have been giving it a whirl ever since.

I am so full of ideas I dont know which one to suggest !! I am a mother and grandmother so I have been there , done it, and STILL doing it since all of my 9 grandchildren live within 8 miles of my home. I think family travel help and games, birthday ideas-I always do a theme, snow day ideas, getting the kids away from electronic games a little….and I loved the video on price matching instead of coupons…I cant tell you how much time I spent clipping, organizing, filing and then throwing away coupons!!
I am older and wiser now but still very active in my kids and grandkids lives and would love to be able to learn and add to your ideas with my own !!

1- I really like tutorials on how to work whatever deal you’ve found. I liked when you showed up without makeup. That was awesome…but then showed me how the heck to use that spray thingy. Curling iron…etc. I’m a “need every step” kind of girl. From couponing to beauty products.
2- I would love to see honestly. If something stinks, please don’t advertise it as awesome applesauce if it’s crappy V8juice. Not that you’ve done that but I’ve seen other channels where they do for the kick backs No bueno.

Hello! I’d love to be part of your focus group. I love stretching my pennies and sharing that info with others. It reminds me that there is an abundance mindset in all of this- we are so blessed.
An idea I have for your amazing show would be to focus on emergency preparedness. Breaking it down into easier steps, how to be prepared for more using less money, fun ways to focus away from fear to confidence in being prepared.
Another idea would be to have a show on repurposing clothing, items, etc. new ways to use what you already have. I love doing that stuff.
My favorite youtube vid was the Christmas popcorn one. You’re just so cute and down to earth.
I have been a moderator on another coupon site in the past, posted grocery deals on that site and really appreciate the hard work that goes into sharing great deals with others.

This is probably going to sound silly, but I want to be a part of your focus group because you really did help me live the ultimate life for less. When I started reading your blog about 5 years ago, my husband had just finished his first year of law school. Since I was at home with our two kids and our student budget was pretty meager, we were living anything but “the ultimate life.” We didn’t eat out, go to a movie, buy any new clothes or spend a single cent we didn’t have to for the whole first year. I even quit buying face wash and moisturizer and used just a soap bar to wash. By the end of the year, we had learned how to live on nothing, but I also had cracked dry skin with premature wrinkles. I think it was very good for us to learn that we could be happy without spending a dime, but I found your site and realized there may be a way for me to have the things I wanted without blowing our budget. It was awesome to learn to find deals and enjoy little luxuries like moisturizer again. 🙂 I still use your site almost daily even though he’s been graduated for two years and I continue to save money on the things we need as well as some extras we wouldn’t be able to afford without finding good deals on. Now I feel confident in finding deals and share them online sometimes and my friends have benefited from what you’ve taught me. 🙂

I think it would be fun to do a segment on anniversary weekend trips or saving on overnight travel. I know so many women who have been married forever and have never even had a night away with their hubby. Even going through how to plan a trip and some ideas for traveling from Salt Lake (ice castles and where to stay, short drives like Lava Hot Springs or Moab). Even if it was catching a $50 flight to New York for two days. I know you love traveling and you’ve done a few Disney trip videos (which were so helpful having just gone to Disneyworld a few weeks ago) but I would love more advice about other short trips that are local.
My favorite video was the one where you made popcorn because I have followed F2D for long enough that I’m super familiar with a lot of the Black Friday and coupon posts but I am a terrible cook and I had no idea you could pop popcorn kernels over stove. I’ve never invested in an air popper so I’ve been buying the microwave stuff that is way worse for my health for a long time. I really liked how you were just being silly and letting your personality come out more.
I would love to be part of the focus group because you are my coupon inspiration. I have been following religiously for 3+ years and I feel like I’m a pretty typical reader. I’ve thought about starting my own money saving blog in the past but never have because I feel like you’ve said it all and probably better than I could. I’m a long time freebies2deals fan. I have saved so much money over the years by learning about some of your different saving techniques. I would love to be a part of the focus group. I think my favorite video if I have to pick one would be the Best Holiday Party Treats just because it was fun to watch. One thing that I would love to see more of is how to save money on fresh food. I have the problem that most of the time I don’t buy processed foods and so I don’t coupon very often. I would love to find a way to save money on fruits, vegetables and meats. As far as being a part of the focus group, I just think it would be fun to have input in something that I’m sure will make a difference in peoples lives.

2. I think it would be awesome if every now and then on your show, you made a trip to Target, or Ulta or wherever you felt like going. Once you’re there with your camera crew, you find someone willing to participate, ask what they are shopping for, then help them get what they were already looking for, but for LESS, using your fabulous skills and savvy knowledge using mobile coupons, cartwheel, etc. How awesome would that be!?
3. My favorite video was the one you did showing us how you curl your hair. I liked it because I have always been terrible at curling hair. And because I was able to find some great products through you and at a great price thanks to you and Ulta!

I would love to see a segment on the best money saving apps that you should have on your phone. I know there are a lot of them out there but I would prefer to have someone who has actually used them recommend them so I know I have the best ones! My favorite video is the one about amazon pantry. Since I started using it I’ve saved a ton of money and don’t have to drag my toddler to the grocery store as often! I’d like to be a part of the focus group because I’m obsessed with saving money and stretching a dollar as far as it can go. I think it would be fun to see you in a bunch of your different elements. I have loved seeing how you are able to look fashionable while not spending a ton of money to do so. This could be a segment in and of itself. Also, I have loved seeing your travel ideas and I think it would be fun to see an episode of you and your cute family at Disneyland, or in Vegas (I loved that post about Vegas and things to do there with kids). I really loved the curling iron video because I suck at curling my crazy thick hair (mostly because I lack the patience) and I loved the popcorn one because I thought it was hilarious (your face when it pops out of the pan lol!) and it’s a great idea for a neighborhood gift. Which is something I was struggling with this year.

My name is Brittney. A couple ideas I have is to focus on local staycations. I know there are a LOT of things offered in Utah or surrounding areas, but a lot of people don’t know about the lesser-known locations. Another idea is to focus on fast, easy ways to find deals. Both my husband and I work full-time. I used to coupon, but when that started cutting into precious family time, I’ve had to let it go. Just because we have 2 incomes doesn’t mean we have a lot of extra money to pay full price on things. I do a lot of shopping on Amazon, but it would be nice to save money on everyday deals as well without investing a lot of time into searching for them.
My favorite video was saving on Disneyland and Hawaii. We are trying to save up enough to go on family vacations and love all the pointers you give!
I would like to be part of the focus group because I feel like I offer a unique perspective being a working mom. Also, I would like to see and hear everything firsthand since that’s the way I learn best and I am very excited to learn more about Living the Ultimate Life for Less 🙂
