This past week we’ve been in Disney World for our Freebies2Deals Discounted Group Trip. It was the first time I have been since I was 16… so I knew it was time to go and take our kids. Can I just say that I’m exhausted?? Disney World is no joke! And although I think Disney World is more suited for older and taller kids (our little kids are ages 2 and 5), we still had an awesome time!
If you didn’t know, Disney World is now doing MagicBands. And I’m sure they will be implementing this at Disneyland in the next couple of years too. Basically, you get to customize your bands, pick your colors, get a name printed on them and it is your “Magic” Band the whole time you are on your vacation. You get your FastPasses on it, you can pay for your meals, snacks and merchandise with it, it opens up your hotel room, it is your ticket into the park each morning…. it does everything!
I did a ridiculous amount of research on MagicBands, Fast Passes and Disney World in general, since it isn’t something we normally do. TouringPlans.com was a total lifesaver! If you are planning a trip, you can use them to help you know which dates have the lowest traffic in the park. We did that to pick which day we would go to each of the 4 Parks (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios). To get access to see the Crowd Calendar, it is $12.95 for a year subscription. But definitely worth it, in my opinion. They do a similar thing for Disneyland as well.
However, they also have articles with tons of information about parks, which rides to FastPass, the best places to eat…. all of it for free. So I would highly recommend using their information to help you plan your trips if you have never been to the parks before. 🙂

It’s my understanding that the MagicBands are only for guests staying ON Disney property. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
