Clearance Shopping Tip #2:

You will definitely see entire areas with clearance signs all over the place.  However, one of the lesser known places to find clearance prices (all year long) is on the inside end-caps of each aisle.  Basically all of the items that have been put on clearance will end up back there in each section of the store!  It’s a great way to find additional clearance items that aren’t on display for the whole store to see.  You can usually find items that haven’t been picked over and still have a great clearance discount on them!

Clearance Shopping Tip #3:  (This one is early since I Don’t post on Saturdays)

Don’t forget the coupons.  Sometimes people are so excited about the clearance deal they find that they forget to see if there are any available coupons to use too!  You can check places like Coupons.com or Redplum.com.  And if you are shopping at a place like Target that has Mobile Coupons or the Target Cartwheel App, make sure there isn’t an extra discount that you could use on top of it all.  I know right now that Target has an extra 20% off Clearance Clothing, Shoes and Accessories for the family!  If you didn’t check first, you might have paid more for that clearance item.  So always check for a coupon or additional discount.

  1. It is helpful to try and remember when you scored good deals the previous year. Last year around this time, Babies R Us had all their clearance clothes for $4. Last year, I bought some gorgeous FAO Schwartz dresses for $4. I just keep calling them every couple days to see if they are going to do it again. They haven’t so far, but it never hurts to call.

  5. I make sure to find all of the clearance endcaps in my Target shopping trips and have found things you would never think would be on clearance. Got a killer deal on a HUGE package of Paper Mate pens! It was the only one and was hiding behind a few other things so don’t be afraid to search through the items.

  8. Check back often. If you know it’s clearance time, be patient to go in the store every day or every other day to check things. And sometimes if you find something good and it’s the only one, check a day or two later – they could’ve put more out just like it! That has definitely happened to me before!

  11. While I love the end caps at Target, they often get picked over quickly. The best is finding clearance items that have been marked down but not moved to a new location. I’m always searching for clearance stickers regardless of whether there’s a sign denoting clearance items or not. And of course I love combining sales with Cartwheel and/or text coupons. Stacking the coupons ensures a great deal!!! The sports bras on sale and then 50% off this week was my favorite deal!!! They’re on sale through today!!! 🙂

    • There’s an app for your phone that you can download (it’s called cartwheel) and you can scan the bar codes of the products while you’re shopping at target. Sometimes they have separate mobile coupons you can use for what you’re buying! You just add the deals you want to your account, and they scan the bar code on your phone at check out, and any coupons/ offers you have added automatically come off of your final amount 🙂

  15. I am wanting to know if restriction have been lifted or if more grocery stores are accepting home-printed coupons. I tried a few years ago to use these types of coupon and got a lot of resistance.
I would graciously accept any thoughts or ideas.
    Thank you

  18. Remember that Target lets you combine a manufacturer coupon with their store coupon and cartwheel. It might be hard to find all three discounts for a clearance item but so worth it. You can get items really cheap even if they aren’t on clearance and you combine all three or a manufacturer and store coupon. This week I used two BOGO manufacturer coupons (buy scrubbing bubbles toilet cleaner and get a bath cleaner free) and a Target coupon to get all 4 scrubbing bubbles items for around $3!

  19. Many times Target will have clearance items still in the regular section the item belongs in but on the shelf there will be a clearance tag. So scan aisles for red clearance shelf tags.
