***In case you missed this post the first time it went up, here it is again!
And for all of the Utah Readers, Jet Blue is starting NON Stop flights from SLC to Orlando in November.  So what does that mean for us??  Flights as low as $129 EACH way during our trip!!

PLEASE, PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST THOROUGHLY.
All of your questions should be answered below.

If you have questions about a particular package, questions about prices for kids… anything…  please call Get Away Today at 855-GET-AWAY.  They can answer all of your questions and tweak the packages below to fit your family perfectly!

It’s finally time!  I know for years we have been talking about doing a group trip to Disney World.  We did the group trip to Disneyland last year (it was a blast!) and we are doing it this year at the end of September for Halloweentime.  BUT… now it’s time to finally go on a trip to Disney World!  Woot-Woot!!

I’ve been working hand-in-hand with Get Away Today to put together this awesome package for all of us.  Disneyland and Disney World are totally different beasts… so the discounts and what we are able to finagle are totally different.  But have no fear, we have worked out AWESOME deals for all of us to go. 🙂

A lot of readers have mentioned that they are wanting to give this trip as a Christmas gift!! Wouldn’t that be awesome??  You could put together a fun way to give the vacation details as a gift on Christmas morning (super cute ideas here on the Get Away Today blog), then you will have two months to get ready for your trip.  You could even have your kids earn “Disney Dollars” for souvenirs by doing chores around the house!

VERY IMPORTANT DETAILS TO NOTE:

  • Our group dates are February 24th through March 2nd– a total of 6 nights.  Since there are 4 parks within Disney World and two water parks, this will actually give you enough time to try to see it all.
  • ALL of the packages below are figured for 2 Adults and 2 Kids (3-9).  I realize that the majority of you might need to add more kids or tweak the over all package.  And we are expecting that.  I just couldn’t possibly put all of the different scenarios in this one post. There would be over 100 possible price options! So if you do need to add more people to your trip, or tweak it in any way possible, when you call up Get Away Today, just let them know and they can tell you what that added or subtracted cost is.
  • There are a few different hotels to choose from depending on where you want to stay.  You will see details on that below.
  • If you can’t pay for your entire trip right now, don’t worry!  Get Away Today will let you make payments on your trip up until you go!  They usually charge $50 to do a Payment Plan.  But they have waived that fee for all of us.  So, you can choose which package you want and make monthly payments for the next 6 months!  No Interest Either!  All you will need to do is put down a deposit of $125.  That will book your room, tickets and your whole trip until your whole vacation is paid in full.

EVERY SINGLE HOTEL PACKAGE BELOW Include the Following for 2 Adults and 2 Kids (remember you can tweak it by adding or subtracting guests and get a more accurate number by calling Get Away Today directly):

  • 5-day Base Tickets + a FREE Water Park Day (Valued at $50) PER PERSON
  • FREE $50 Disney Gift Card if you book by July 31, 2014 (You can use this anywhere on the Disney property for food, towards character meals or even souvenirs.)
  • Each Child will get a FREE Disney Character Sling Backpack (Worth $10)
  • And a FREE exclusive Freebies2Deals Payment Plan– if you choose to use it.

Here are the different packages available:

****AIRFARE QUESTIONS:  I know a lot of you are concerned about Airfare.  Airfare is not included in any of these deals.  However, I purposefully picked these dates because historically they are some of the best dates to fly to get the best rates!  And any time I see on airfare deal worth mentioning, I will post it for you guys over the next few months.  And for all my Utah readers, Jet Blue is starting non-stop flights from SLC to Orlando in November and will be flying our dates.  They are as low as $119- $139 each way!!   I am pretty confident we can all find great airfare deals to Orlando if we are watching for them.

  2. These are awesome prices. Do you have any suggestions for airfare? The thing that keeps me away from Disney World is that the airfare is so expensive.

    Reply
    • Megan, our agents can help you find airfare, or Melea will be posting airfare specials as they come out. Of course things depend on your departure city, but we’ve recently seen some great airfare into Orlando. 🙂

      • What is considered “good” prices for airfare? We would be flying out of Salt Lake.

We should be able to find airfare for $300 or less per person roundtrip. But with the Jet Blue sale, it should be closer to $270ish per person–non stop.

  3. What are base tickets? Will you be able to go to more then one park in a day like a hopper pass?

    Reply
    • We figured most families wouldn’t be able to do more than one park a day… so a Park Hopper isn’t really worth the extra cost. The parks are so far away from each other… a lot different from Disneyland and California Adventures. So you can go to one park each day you are there. And one day of the Waterpark is added as a freebie for our packages!

      Reply
  4. A base ticket IS NOT a park hopper. It’s a 1 day per park ticket and doesn’t include the water parks.

    Reply
  5. I am not seeing the prices listed. Do you have to call GetAway Today to get the pricing?

    Reply
    • The prices are listed next to the name of each hotel we have packages for. You will want to call Get Away Today if you need to tweak any of the packages to get a final cost.

  6. What exactly is a base ticket and do you know of any meal plan deals?

    Reply
    • The base ticket allows one theme park each day (no park hopping). This package does not include any meal plans. Basic meal plans start at $42+ tax per person per day and everyone in the room must have it included. We have found that many families are able to feed their family for a lot less. We’ll put together a list of some of our favorite places to eat on a budget and send it to everyone who is going on the trip closer to the dates. 🙂

  7. Typical trends in the past have dining plan for little or no cost during this time. Is there dining with this option??? Also is this option available for Canadians?

    Reply
    • I don’t see why Canadians couldn’t purchase this…Since you are just purchasing the hotel packages, you shouldn’t have an issue. The problem with Disney Dining is that they usually jack up the prices of the hotel and everything else. So although you are getting “FREE dining”, what I have seen in the past is that there isn’t a huge savings. A lot of times it isn’t a better deal, although it seems it is. So if you are wanting to go during a time when they do FREE Disney Dining, just make sure you do some serious math to see if it really is a significantly better deal. 🙂

  8. This sounds like so much fun! I don’t know if our family will be able to make it, but I wish we could. Will there be other DisneyWorld trips in the future?

    Reply
    • I have the same question as Michele… Will you do another trip for those that are interested, but can’t make it this time?

      Reply
      • I’m wondering too! We’ve decided not to take our little until she’s at least 4. I’m hoping to see you do a Disneyland package in a year or two!

        Reply
      • Yeah if this trip goes well for Disney World and we have enough interest to do it again, I’m sure we will try to figure something out again for a different year!

  9. Sounds great! We probably won’t be able to make it as we’ll have a newborn but would LOVE to do it in a few years! Also, any chance of any Disney Cruise Freebies 2 Deals vacations in the mix? We’ve seen some good ones in the past but weren’t able to make it. Now we can but can’t find the deals. ha ha Thanks so much for working on this and working hard!

    Reply
    • Yeah I would love to do something like that in the future for sure!

  10. Just a note…if you’re thinking about getting a rental car in Orlando, check the TOTAL price WITH tax, before you book. We once had a rental car free for a week (with travel reward points), and the tax was almost $200. (That was 10 years ago — probably twice as much now.)
Don’t plan to do TOO much, especially with little kids. Lots of folks go early in the day, come back to the room for lunch and a siesta, and then back out later in the day.
Unfortunately, if you’re coming from SLC or the West Coast, you will have to deal with a 2- or 3-hour time difference. That will make it hard to get up early in the morning. You might try to adjust your schedule in the weeks before you leave.
    Have a great time!

    Reply
  11. Can you go to The Magic Kingdom 2 days with the tickets included and skip another park?

    Reply
    • Yes! You have five full days, so you will definitely be able to visit all four theme parks once and your favorite park a second time. However, you can use your days however you see fit. If you wanted to visit the Magic Kingdom for all five days, you absolutely could. The waterpark is an extra day altogether and does not count towards your five days, Unless you use it on the same day as one of the theme parks.

  15. Also we have 6 people in our family but would love to stay at a Disney resort. If we get two rooms could they be conjoined? And is it double the listed price, or would it be less since its just the room?

    Reply
    • Hey Christina, it wouldn’t be exactly double because you would only be paying for two tickets in the second room. Get Away Today would be able to tell you exactly the right amount. And I believe they can get you connecting rooms. So just ask them about that when you call. 🙂

  16. The lady I just spoke with said the down payment would be $200 and that $125 would be non refundable, not sure if I’m just not reading your details correctly or if someone is telling it wrong. I’m a little confused though!

  18. My daughter called Get Away Today and asked about getting the tickets upgraded to a hopper and they told her she could not get them upgraded due to the package price. Is this true or is it also a mistake? We have 3 families going and wanted to make sure that the info we are getting is as true to accurate as possible. Thanks

    Reply
    • Hey Leslie,

Im going to check on that for you. I thought you could upgrade to Park Hoppers… but maybe you can’t because of the discounts we are getting with the FREE Waterpark Day? Ill check!

      • Thanks Melea

        Reply
    • Hi Leslie,
In order to get the group discount and receive the free water park day, all of the tickets have to be the same, so unfortunately there is no way to upgrade to park hoppers. If you’re used to Disneyland, we always recommend park hoppers, but at Walt Disney World, the parks are spread out so much more, that we see a much smaller percentage of travelers utilize park hopping. We’d love to help your family book!

      Reply
  19. Melea – you stated that we could update our passes to Park Hoppers. However, when I asked this question today to an agent at Get Away Today, they told me ‘no’. They packages were set in stone and no changes could be made, such as upgrading to Hopper passes. Clarification please. Thanks!

    Reply
    • I will ask them! Hang tight. The rest of the package can’t be changed… but I figured that you could change to Park Hoppers without issue. Maybe I was wrong? I’ll double check.

    • Hi Christen,
In order to get the group discount and receive the free water park day, all of the tickets have to be the same, so unfortunately there is no way to upgrade to park hoppers. Because the parks are spread out, there is much less park hopping in Orlando than at Disneyland. The only adjustments that can be made to the Freebies2Deals packages are the number and ages of travelers. We’d love to help you book!

  20. for the package deals, are the tickets being purchase good for all 4 parks…

    Reply
    • Hi Pahoua,
Yes, the tickets are good for all four theme parks – you can visit one park each day for 5 days and you also get 1 bonus day good for a visit to a water park. Our agents would love to answer any other questions you may have at 855-GET-AWAY. 🙂

  21. Is it possible to do part of the trip at the special pricing? If we go we definitely want to go to Universal Studios as well, but can’t be gone to long, even though we wish we could!!

    Reply
    • Hi Trevor, the Freebies2Deals rates are locked in in order to get the discounts for everyone. If you can go over the dates, you can add Universal Studios tickets to your package. If the group package doesn’t work for you, our agents can still find a great deal for you! Feel free to give them a call at 855-GET-AWAY. We would love to help you.

I love that you are doing this! I would love to go to Disneyworld one day, but I want to wait until my now 2 year old is a little bit older. I hope you continue doing these. Also, I love the dates you always pick. You may have to take your kids out of school, but I love how you don’t pick the busy times. Keep up the good work!

  23. Is it possible to change to the 5 day ticket to a 3 or 4 day ticket?

    • I think the price will actually go up if you did that. WDW gave us a special rate and that free Waterpark day. So if you take less days in the park, I think it will raise the price. But call up Get Away Today and double check. 🙂
