I am so excited about this!  We had SO much fun last year. It only made sense to do it again.

I think by now you all know h0w much I just LOVE Disneyland.  It is just so magical and so fun! My favorite time of the year to go to Disneyland is actually during Halloween Time.  They completely change the park with awesome decorations, Mickey and all his friends get dressed up in Halloween Costumes and they actually change a few of the rides with Halloween Themes!  And it is the only time of the entire year you get to see the Disney Vilians! Not to mention that they have the Mickey’s Halloween Party which includes ridiculous amounts of Candy, Free Trick or Treat Bags, a Special Fireworks Show and the park is only open to party guests!

  • If you can’t pay for your entire trip right now, don’t worry!  Get Away Today will let you make payments on your trip up until you go!  They usually charge $50 to do a Payment Plan.  But they have waived that fee for all of us.  So, you can choose which package you want and make monthly payments for the next 7 months!  No Interest Either!

Benefits of Staying at a Disneyland Hotel:

  • You get early access to Disneyland every day of your vacation, as long as you have a valid park ticket and your room key. I can’t tell how big of a difference this makes! **This is the BEST way to get into Cars Land and ride all of the rides before everyone else gets in an hour later!  We rode the brand new Cars ride 3 times and the other rides all before the park opened to the public!  ONLY people staying at one of Disney Resorts can get in that hour early each day.  So it makes a big difference!
  • For those with little ones who still need to take naps, I personally think a Disneyland Hotel really helps out!  You are only steps away from your actual hotel room.  You can leave mid-day when the park starts to get crowded and head back to the hotel for a nap and some time at the pool.  Then you can head back early evening when people are starting to leave for the day!
  • At the Disneyland Hotel, you can choose to use the Monorail to enter the park each morning, or go through the special/private entrance through the Grand Californian Hotel.  Both can help you get into the park faster!
  • The nighttime show and firework music is piped in through your TV.  So if you have to head back to the Hotel early, you can still get some of the magic!
  • Disney Princesses tell bedtime stories to your kids on a special Disneyland Hotel TV channel.
  • You can schedule a wake-up call from Mickey Mouse each morning.  Have each of your kids answer the phone in the morning and get a fun surprise!!

**I know that staying at one of the Disney Hotels is a pricier option.  But if you can make it work, I would really recommend that you do it!  The convenience and the extras they throw in to make your vacation more enjoyable is really worth it. Plus you get SO much more time in the park before it gets crazy! Even if it is something your family only gets to do once, this would be a great time to do it with the discount and Free Character Meals!

You will also get a FREE Disney shuttle and FREE hotel parking – only for Freebies2Deals/GetAwayToday guests. And based on a family of 4, it could save you up to $220 if you had to park and were riding their Disney Shuttle!   (Regular guests pay $12 a Night to Park! And the Disney Shuttle normally costs $17 per Adult during your 4 Day Stay and $6 per kid during your 4 Day Stay!)

**Just so you know, I did compare prices between booking through Hilton directly and GetAwayToday. The Hilton charges extra PER ADULT that stays in the room.  So you will save even more with this promo through GetAwayToday if you have more than 2 adults going with you.

Optional upgrade: Goofy’s Kitchen exclusive dining experience w/me and my family! Tickets are $44 for adults and $22 for children (ages 3-9). You get to eat an amazing buffet with the Disney Characters.  It is the best way to see the characters.  They come to each table!  Plus, it saves you time trying to search for them in the park.

These are available within the same dates.  TWO Adult 3-Day Park Hopper Tickets start at $755. And you can usually have 4-5 people in a room.  If you are looking to head to Disneyland and want the absolute cheapest option, you can call up GetAwayToday and ask for prices on these hotels too.

Mickey’s Halloween Party Tickets Info:

I also wanted to let you all know that Disneyland has given Freebies2Deals and GetAwayToday FIRST DIBS on the Mickey’s Halloween Party Tickets! How amazing is that??!  While we don’t have all of the details yet, we have been promised we will have enough set aside for all of you who book one of these deals and want to purchase them.  Prices are usually around $65  per person. So keep that budgeted and set away.  Then when Disney gives us the go-ahead to purchase them before everyone else, you can get yours!

With the Mickey’s Halloween Party Ticket, they will let you into the park around 5:00pm and kick everyone else out around 6:00pm.  In past years, we have had the entire park to ourselves until Midnight- although we got all of the rides done WAY before that.  And, they have fun candy and treat stations all along the park.  When I say we had bags and bags of candy… we really did!

Everyone in your family can come dressed up in their Halloween costumes (optional of course) and they even give you Trick or Treat bags!  It’s one of the most fun things I have ever done at Disney.

Usually tickets for the Mickey’s Halloween Party go on sale in Mid-July.  So we will know before then of how to purchase the tickets to the party.  And I will let you know… as I am sure Get Away Today will too- if you purchased one of these special packages. 🙂

Transportation Info:

If you aren’t staying at one of the Disney Properties, or at a resort within walking distance, you will want to get the ART Bus Tickets.  This is the BEST way to get to your hotel and to Disney each day.  You won’t have to pay a parking fee at your hotel and the shuttle comes every 20-30 minutes.  And if you stay at the Springhill Suites (mentioned above), they stop right in front of the hotel.  Usually, it is $25 for an Adult 5-Day Unlimited Ride Pass.  But GetAwayToday will give it to us for $15!  And kids ages 3-9 ride FREE with GetAwayToday! (Reg $10 for a 5-day pass)  So, it is worth it… and a TON cheaper than a Car Rental.

On that same note, ask GetAwayToday about Airport Transfers on the Disneyland Express or another shuttle pickup service from the Airport– if you are flying.  Cost depends on which airport you fly to.  But, in my experience it has been cheaper to do that than pay for a car rental during the entire stay of your trip.

freebies2deals disney villians

So obviously, there are a lot of routes that you can go.  But I am really hoping that one of these packages will work for your family so you can come with me and my family to Disneyland!!

IMPORTANT*** I do want to give you guys a heads up though… there are only so many hotel rooms at each resort we have negotiated these special deals for.  So please don’t wait very long to book in case the hotel you want sells out of rooms.  Remember, the payment plan that Get Away Today provides does not charge interest or anything… and that $50 fee is waived for us.

If you want to book any of these packages, you will have to book directly through the Get Away Today Groups Department at 888.943.2929. Make sure you call and tell them you are calling about the Freebies2Deals Special Vacation Package to Disneyland!  That way, you will get quoted the right amount.  If you need to make any changes to the packages above, you can also talk to them and work that all out.  They are super nice and helpful!

If you are going to do the Payment Plan and pay on it over the next 6-7 months, here are the details:

All packages will require a minimum down payment of $200. $50 of that deposit is non-refundable if you need to make changes. Final payment is due August 1, 2014. No cancellations/changes can be made after that time.  July 15 is the last day to book.

If you need to make changes, have questions about any of the packages or people coming with you or just need to tweak a package, please call GetAwayToday at 888.943.2929.  They can answer all of your questions and make it the perfect fit for you!

But the most important part is that I want all of you to come and experience Disneyland with me!!  Those of you who do come, I will email you tips before the trip to make sure you get the most out of your vacation, your dollars, and your time! :)

  1. Is Marriott Springhill Suites within walking distance? Thank you for putting this together! So EXCITED!

    • I believe it is .5 miles to 1 mile away. So I wouldn’t walk with younger kids. But I would do the ART Pass!

      • Thank you that helps us to decide on where to stay.

    • Hi Danielle, since all children under 3 are free, you’ll just look at the total cost for your paid travelers. If you have 6 people total and 3 are under 3, you’ll need to stay at a suite like SpringHill Suites to accommodate everyone. BUT, you’d pay the 3 person price at the Springhill Suites. If you have any other questions, our agents would love to help you. 888.943.2929

      • I did read the whole thing, but I did not know if the hopper tickets are actual tickets to the park or not.

        Reply
        • Yes, hopper tickets are tickets for 3 days into both Disneyland and California Adventure. It means you can use the same ticket to go to both parks in the same day. Both your 3 year old and 6 year old would need tickets. If your 3 year old was under 3, you wouldn’t need a ticket for that child.

Way good deal you just have to pay for it upfront. It is cancellable though until a couple days before the trip.

I just went to the GetAwayToday website, put in the dates Sept 23rd-27th (4 nights) and 4 Adult 3-day park Hoppers and 1 Child Park Hopper ticket and the total was $1912. Were you doing 4 nights or just 3 nights when you priced it out? And, were you looking at the Springhill Suites… not the other Marriott Hotels in the area?

      Reply
      • oops, you were right! I had clicked the wrong hotel 🙂 So it’s 1, 912.00 but this is still slightly cheaper than the freebies2deals deal of $1,972…so what is included in this deal that is not in just the normal every day getawaytoday price? I’m just trying to figure out what I’m missing or what makes the price difference…thanks!!

        Reply
        • Hi Merissa,
The group package price includes the Peace of Mind Plan, which is the same as the $1,972 that you’ll see online when you add that to your package. This allows you to make changes to your package without change fees. One of the benefits of going with Melea’s Freebies2Deals is that you’re getting the exclusive Free Layaway Plan – normally a $50 value and you’re going during Adults at Kids’ Prices, which works out great for your family. 🙂 Our package pricing for the Springhill is a minimum $232 savings off of competitor pricing. If you have any questions, our Group Team would love to help you. 🙂 888.943.2929

      • Nicole and Stephanie,

The Disneyland hotels do count infants and toddlers towards the total number of people staying in a room because of fire codes. You can choose a suite off property (we have lots of great ones) or, you can book two standard rooms – each with three guests. Our agents would love to help you at 888.943.2929.

But, if you book by February 28, you’ll get one free Character Dining (up to $225 value!) for everyone staying in your room who purchases a ticket. As an FYI, the Grand Californian has a great shop called White Water Snacks that has affordable grocery items. Plus, both hotels have a fridge in each room.

  20. I’d love to know if you have any tips, advice, or secret special deals for airfare as well. My husband wants to drive, but it’d be me, him, and a 2 1/2 yr old, and live in utah, so that’d be a 14+ hour drive (all the stops…) and we went to Arizona last month, a 16+ hour drive, and it was TERRIBLE. But if airfare is an arm and a leg, that’s probably the route we’d go. So just hoping you have any advice 😉

Also, I don’t know if you know or not, but do you happen to know how much the parking fee would be if we chose to stay at the Disney land hotel? I don’t know where to find that. Besides during my marriage, I’ve never been on vacations, not one before 18 yrs old (I’m 21 now), and the ones i have been on were just LONG road trips to see family, so I’m a noob at this lol

If you’re flying, we offer discounted airport shuttles, which will be generally more affordable than renting and parking a car. Plus, it’s so nice to stay on property and not have to worry about anything!

Parking is $15 per night at the Disney properties.

        • Disneyland Resort Hotels Pricing UPDATE:
We just found out that pricing is now $16 per night for parking at the Disney properties. If you are flying, we can help arrange airport shuttles so you don’t have to rent and park a car. 🙂

          • Are you saying it is $16 a day to park your car at one of the Disney resorts? Or just a Disney parking shuttle lot? Like Toy Story?

    • Brianna, we live in Utah too and we usually split the drive in two. We just find a cheap hotel in mesquite or Vegas so it isn’t so hard on the kids. Just an option if you end up driving out.

  25. So I have read the posts and I am too wondering the total for a family of 5 kids and 2 adults. Is there a certain amount per person that it would go up? And could you book 2 rooms at a Disney hotel and how much more would that be?? Or if you stay at the other hotel would we still need 2 rooms?

    Reply
    • Hi Tacy, with five children and two adults, if you choose to stay at the Disney properties, you would need two rooms. You would just look at the three-person price and the four person price to get your total for the two packages. If you’d like to stay off property, we do have some two bedroom suites that will accommodate seven. You can call our group department at 888–9 43–2929 and they would love to help you figure it out for your family.

  26. What day will you be doing the character dining? Is it the brunch or dinner?

    Reply
    • We won’t know what day we are doing the Character Dining until we have a final count of everyone coming. Last time, we did a Dinner.

      Reply
    • We are unsure of what date and time the character dining will be because we cannot make reservations this far out in advance. We do know it will be Goofy’s Kitchen and we are guessing it will be on Wednesday the 24th. We will get the for sure dates by August and update everyone as soon as we have it set up.

  29. Our family has been wanting to go to Disneyland for over a year now, this looks like a great option for us! I was looking into the regular pricing of the hotels, etc. and I am not understanding where it says the Goofy’s Kitchen is free. If I calculate what the hotel and the tickets would be and add in the $44 and $22 for our family of four then that is the $2,508 posted for the Disneyland Hotel. Thanks for putting all this together, I think it is awesome just wanted to know what all we are paying for. Thanks!

    • Hi Amber, if you’re staying at one of the Disney properties as part of the Freebies2Deals group and book (pay your deposit) by February 28, then you get the Goofy’s Kitchen FREE, so you don’t need to add that to your package cost. Our regular price of the Disneyland Hotel for Sept. 23-27 is $2,660, so if you have four people traveling with the Freebies2Deals group, you are saving $152, AND getting the Character Dining ($132 value) Free, AND getting a FREE Layaway Plan ($50) a total extra savings of $334. And that’s on top of our regular discounted price. It’s even more savings compared to our competitor pricing. 🙂 Does that help? Our agents would love to help you book at 888.943.2929.

  30. So does every package include a early magic morning entrance or only certain hotels

    Reply
    • Each 3-Day ticket comes with one early entry into Disneyland Park on select days. If you stay at one of the Disney hotels, you get early entry to a Disney park each day of your stay, as long as you have a valid ticket for that day. Early entry for Disney California Adventure Park is available Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and is only available to guests staying at a Disney hotel. Early entry for Disneyland is Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and is available to all guests with a 3-day or longer ticket purchased in advance.

  34. Hi! I booked our vacation package earlier today with Jess at the group number for Getaway Today. She was FANTASTIC, thank you! After re-reading this post I do have a question though. When speaking with Jess she mentioned I would need to call Disneyland directly for Mickey’s Halloween Party once the tickets became available. However, that does not coincide with what I read here. I’m wondering who I call when the tickets are ready, Disney or Getaway today and how do I make sure that enough tickets have been set aside for my family for first dibs? We chose to go with a good neighbor hotel to save money since we are extending our stay to include 5 day park hopper tickets but Jess said that wouldn’t matter as long as we were booked during the Sep 23 – 27 timeframe. Sorry to be a nervous Nellie, but I want to make sure that the tickets are available when I call and that I call the right people. Thanks!

I’ve priced out all of these hotels through other mediums and they all come out lower even considering that some people might have to buy their Disney Park Hopper through Disney, they are all still lower when you book without an agent. This seems like a lot of hype to me.

    • Hey Celeste, thanks for your comment!

I priced out these hotels, during this particular week and with all the same specs and Get Away Today has been cheaper than the other sites and places I checked. And the Free Layaway Plan for those who don’t have all of the money upfront is something special they are doing just for us.

If you are seeing a lower price, you might have been checking for 3 nights and not 4. Some of the other readers have done the same thing unknowingly. 🙂

Feel free to email me directly at melea@freebies2deals.com if you have further questions about rates you have seen elsewhere. Everywhere I have checked, Get Away Today has had a better price. Plus they have other bonuses thrown in that you won’t get otherwise. Thanks!

One agent I talked to said yes, the other said no. I am hoping to use the party ticket as an additional half day at the park so I just wanted to make sure. Also I am trying to decide between goofys kitchen and Ariel’s grotto. I would love to do it with the group but the main reason I booked the character dining was for my 3 year old princess obsessed daughter. Do they have any princesses come at goofys kitchen? Do you know if the food is decent at Ariel’s grotto? Thanks.

    • Yes, you will need to purchase a Mickey’s Halloween Party ticket separately. I’ve done both and I think the food at Goofy’s Kitchen is better. There is a princess or two you will see while you are there. But if you want a ton of Princesses, Ariel’s Grotto is the way to go!
