target food mobile coupon

Last week, I posted about this awesome new Target mobile coupon that will get you $10 off $50 in food purchases.  But guess what??  Not only can you text the word FOOD  to 827438 to receive your mobile coupon, you can also text FOOD1, FOOD2, FOOD3 and FOOD4 (in separate texts of course) to get the coupon sent to you as well.

So while I was at Target today, I thought I would do a little experiment.  I separated my $105 worth of groceries into two separate transactions.  When the cashier was done ringing up my groceries, I let her scan the $10 off $50 coupon from the FOOD text, then let her scan my Cartwheel coupons and manufacturer coupons.

For the second transaction, I did exactly the same thing–except that I used the $10 off $50 coupon from the FOOD4 text.

And it worked!! I got to use both coupons.  So I was able to save $20 off my $100 bill plus any extra savings I had with my Cartwheel and manufacturer coupons.

There is NO GUARANTEE that this will work for you at your Target store. However, if you are already shopping there and plan on purchasing over $100 in groceries, separate your transactions and see if it works for you too!  As long as you use a different mobile coupon on each transaction, you should be good to go!

Make sure you comment and let us know if this worked for you at your store or not! 🙂

  10. I couldn’t get the mobile coupon to work for me. It kept returning an error. Does anyone else have any experience with this? I did manage to use the paper coupon from the sunday insert so that was nice but wish I could use repeat coupons. thanks for the info, I’m going to keep trying!

  17. I was able to do the same things but what I did was use the printable coupon. You can get this coupon as a mobile coupon, in the Target ad this past week and on the Target Coupons website so I separated mine too. It made for so much extra savings, loved it 🙂
