>Giveaway or Deal Link-up: Should we keep doing them??

DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission.

>Over this past month, I have left a “Link up” for others to post their Giveaways. And, I have also left a “Link-up” for people to post great deals that they are having for their own businesses, boutiques or etsy shops.

So, this is what I need to know…Should I keep putting those up each Saturday??  They usually rotate every other Saturday.  Or, are you ok not having them.

As much feedback as I could get would be great!  From those who actually post a deal or giveaway on the link up and from those who just read them!  Thanks everyone!

  2. >i think the link ups are a great idea. Since you are asking for feedback, I'll tell you that I personally don't use them- i don't link anything nor really look at them. Thanks for all the work you put into your site!

  7. >Entering contests is fun but the process of "liking" several different web-sites on fb, subscribing to their e-mails, following them on twitter, etc. is overwhelming. I'm happy (and busy) keeping track of all your deals!

  8. >I like them! I keep my giveaways simple and just ask people to comment or post a button on another blog or site.

  9. >I like them if they aren't a big hassle for you to post.

  10. >Whenever I see "giveaway" I maybe scan the post to see if it is something I'd like but often I don't even try because the odds are so low. If I see "link up" I just keep on scrolling. I come to your site for the freebies!

  12. >I think they are great for those who are profiting, but for those who are just checking your site for deals, they are just annoying. PLENTY of other deal sites do them and part of the reason I love F2D is because you keep it to just real and actual deals…not advertising! I say…DITCH EM!!!

  13. >I am not sure about what you mean on link-ups, but I don't go to other peoples giveaways. It takes way to much time to like and subscribe to so many different websites. I only do your giveaways!

  14. >I like them both so please keep them. What's the harm? Hopefully there is a payoff for your efforts on our behalf. To the commentor who said that they got a virus from using one of the links I say this – I worked for AT&T and IBM and currently own a computer repair business. If you have an anti-virus program and it is up to date you will not have an issue with any link. I use and recommend Norton 360. One more comment – I seriously doubt that anyone, pro or home user can tell you exactly where and when the computer got the virus. Thank you

  15. >I'm sure if I were a business owner I would really appreciate the response, but as a reader only, I'm not into link ups. One of the reasons I keep coming back to your site instead of all the other deal sites out there is to avoid having to wade through all those annoying link ups. I was a little disappointed when you wrote that you were going to start having link ups, since not having them was one of my favorite things about your site. Since you only do them in one post on Saturdays, it doesn't bother me, but I don't use them.

  16. >I would offer one suggestion and I know that you are undoubtedly aware of this already. It is great to have all the giveaways listed, but they need to be kept current. I know it is a lot of work to keep sorting through the trash, but without kulling out the expired ones from the current ones it becomes less useful for everyone.

I welcome everyone to give me their gut honest evaluation. I was in the Army for 21 years and I can dish it out and I can take it so bring it on please.FrugalFather

  19. >LEAVE THEM UP PLEASE! I love the giveaway link ups! I haven't found any deals that I have bought from yet but I do like to scan through them too! I have won a couple awesome prizes on the giveaways so please leave them up. I think they both pertain to your site….. Every other week we get a chance at giveaways (freebies) and the next week deals so I say leave them….. A lot of people do use them and what is the harm for the people that don't you just have to scroll past it, so no harm done! But for those of us that have won a great item (that we normally couldn't afford) or found a great deal they are GREAT so I say keep them!!

  20. >I love the link up's. I click on several of them every Saturday. I've posted mine twice. I think it's a great service to our economy to post links for small local businesses. It helps our local economy grow.

  21. >You could also make it a requirement for ANYONE who posts on either of them to have your button on their website or do a post about your site or something. That way it will bring you more readers to and then you can get us even more giveaways and great deals! Thanks 🙂

  23. >If some people like them and others don't then whats the harm in posting them for the people who like them if it doesn't take too long? They take up just as much space as 1 blog entry, so easy to scan past if someone is not interested. You will never be able to please everyone and people who think this site should be just to their liking will always be disappointed about something, and probably don't know the work that goes into maintaining a site like this anyways. I say do whatever is best for you, your family and your site.

  24. >So, I hate to say but I loathe them! IF loathe is too strong a word, how about DETEST! I don't mind when someone posts 10-20 but 200-500+? That is seriously counterproductive. Users are overwhelmed before they even begin! My suggestion is cut it down to a few linkies a week and only put in the ones you feel we would get the most use of! YOu know better than most what is a good deal and what people want and need these days so I trust you! Hope this helps!

  25. >I never click on the link ups. I am busy and when I look at a site to help me find deals, I want it to be quick and easy. I don't like scrolling through lots of useless things. I stop using sites that put too much stuff on them!
