I am blogging about this topic mostly to vent for myself… but also to ask you guys to help me out.
As the site has grown larger, I have had many “other money saving bloggers” and “haters” doing whatever they can do leave negative comments on the site. (Most money saving bloggers are awesome and great people.. but there have been a few who aren’t the nicest.) And when the negative comments are left, they are left under Anonymous. For some reason people feel like they can say whatever they want, as long as their names aren’t linked to the comment.
I’m not quite sure if the negative comments come from people who are just negative in nature or because of another reason. But in any case, you can imagine they can become quite hurtful- especially when I feel like I do a pretty dang good job of posting legitimate deals for all of you to enjoy.
I litterally get hundreds of comments a day… and I definitely welcome them all! But it becomes very difficult to monitor and delete the Anonymous comments that are left. Can you guys help me out and leave your comment with a name? It is one of the options to leave your comment. I welcome concerns you might have about deals I post and can answer any questions that you have. But, hateful or rude comments cannot be tolerated. To be honest, it just hurts my feelings after all of the work I put into this site each day.
If you are one of those people who have negative comments to leave, feel free to visit another money saving blog instead. I am personally inviting you to leave the site right now. Those comments not only ruin my experience in this fun hobby of mine, but they ruin it for others as well.
However, thanks to all of you who do make running this website an enjoyable experience! For the first time in my life, I really do look forward to getting up in the morning to start finding and posting deals for us all.

Its to bad people cant be grateful to you for all the money you save them. Obviously they are clueless. Thank you for saving my life. I needed to pull off a wedding for my daughter and did not have the means until I followed your blog and have made a huge difference in our lives. I really don't understand why people feel the need to be so negative. You need not worry about what they say. I have a job in the public eye and I used to be bothered by the negative comments people say, but finally I decided to ask myself "Am I doing the best job that I can? and Do I have the best interest at heart for the people I serve? Being able to say yes every day to those questions helps me realize that there are always going to be haters, but for every hater there are MANY more that are grateful and happy for what is done, realize that that is the case here too! You are doing a great job! Keep it up!

I agree — I'm just starting out but have already had lots of great deals and freebies in my mailbox (two free boxes of tampons and a Glad garbage bag just today — woohoo) and I come to this site multiple times a day to make sure I'm not missing anything. I agree with whoever above said to disable anonymous comments – that should solve the problem. Thanks for all the work you do. 🙂

This looks like a Blogger setup, just set your comment settings so that you CAN'T post anonymous comments. People can still sign in or leave contact info to leave a comment, just no creepy anonymous ones. Also, I use Intense Debate for my comments, ANYONE can comment but they have to leave information. I also have that set to "no anonymous". It also provides people's isp's when they comment (on your moderation page only, not publicly) so you can block the nasties if you want!Good luck, and keep it up! I love this site! As a single mom I'm always looking for good deals and you have helped me out more than once, so I thought I'd reach out and give whatever advice I could. Thanks.
