Re-Designing the Website!

Ok everyone!  The time has finally come to give Freebies2Deals a little facelift.  When I originally started this website, I never thought it would grow to be so large, so quickly.  Now that I have thousands of you visiting the site each day, I thought we should make it a little easier to navigate.

So, I am putting some of the power in your hands.  What types of things would you like to see available on my blog?  A navigation bar? Any certain colors?

Let me know what you would like to see.  I think I am leaning more towards a simple yet elegant look.  I like the damask on the page, but it also takes up a lot of space that I could use to help you out more.

  1. The header can't be any wider than your "header wrapper" which I'm guessing is 660 px on your blog if you're using the "Minima" style template and you haven't made any changes to the HTML code. So you can try to format your header in PS so that it's no more than 660 px (about 2 inches) wide and it'll be centered. On my blog I changed the "header-wrapper" to 800 px wide so I could make the header wider. But you also have to change the "outer-wrapper" width to the same 800 px (or whatever you choose) and then adjust your "main-wrapper" and "sidebar-wrapper" widths to pixels that add up to the 800 px or just less than that amount. You only have to change the code once and then it's set. This will make your writting space on your blog bigger too.

  3. i really like that your site is on blogger because i love the search option in the top left corner. it is so much easier for searching than the "google custom search." Your easy finder list along the right hand side is helpful too! i also LOVE that you don't have advertisements all over the place- that is so annoying.Happy re-designing!

  5. I like the way it is too, so I agree with the above post don't change too much. It seems much easier to read than other coupon/deal sites and that is one of the reasons I prefer to follow yours the best.

  6. I agree with the others, this is one of the best and easiest blogs to navigate daily. I think to have a space to post the sites we need to view daily to enter things, (like the V.S. Game) would be nice just so we don't forget. Thanks for all you do!

  7. I love your blog and wouldn't change too much. The light blue is a little hard to see. Maybe make that dark blue or a dark red? You are doing great and I love your services, thank you!

  8. I like it the way it is, but if I could suggest one thing, when I am looking from my phone your background doesn't come up so it is a grey with a darker grey lettering and it is hard to read. I don't know if you know what i mean but from my touch or iphone it is hard to read, so changing those colors to make them contrast more would be nice.

  11. keep it simple like you have it. when there is so much on a page it is too busy, overwhelming, and more difficult to navigate. i think we have the same style- elegant and simple.

  17. I like simple elegance too. Couponing and such can seem overwhelming at times, so any simplicity is welcome in my book. 🙂

  18. PLEASE keep it clean and simple! Because it IS super easy to navigate and read. Some blogs get so much info that they are UGLY and hard to use.

  20. I really like it also, Esp the black on white, so easy to read, and the links blue- great. The only suggestion I have is maybe a link section at the top with the daily updates, so you can get straigt to the one you want to see,i.e at the top have family dollar, huggies, etc and then click on it to goto that sections. The other thing that would be SUPER helpful is maybe on one of the sides have an ongoing daily entry spot, so like the VS thing which you can do daily is in that section until it expires. I am ALWAYS forgetting about the daily entry stuff because they are so far back and I can't remember all of them. Love the website thank you so much for doing it, I am new to couponing and very excited about it.
