Well, reader McKenzie just emailed me her success story!  She was able to make 26 Meals for less than $100!!!  And each meal will feed 4 people… so only about $4.00 per entire meal!  Now, that is cool!  (Her pic is above)

Our family has found that doing these Freezer Crock Pot Meals has saved us a bunch of money.  And, we are eating a lot healthier.  And to top it off, the meals are easy peasy to make since you just throw them in a Crock Pot!

Since I have started cooking my Freezer Crock Pot Meals, I have updated the original post with a few tips to help all of you!  So, make sure to read that as well!

  2. I made some meals, too, pretty much using just what I had on hand. Your recipes were really great ones to use! I think I made 6, but considering I’m 31-weeks-pregnant with twins, that wore me out. 🙂 BUT it is really nice to have some meals in the freezer. I’m hoping to make more or pass the recipes along to others to make for me since they really were simple and easy.

I’ve only used one recipe (the BBQ chicken – I shredded it and made it into sandwiches with cheese and avacado on rolls), but look forward to using many more as the pregnancy gets harder on me and the babies come in the next few weeks.

    So thank you!!

  3. Here is a favorite recipe at my house. Black bean chicken!
    2-3 chicken breasts cubed
    2 cans black beans drained
    1/2 an onion chopped
    1 jar of salsa
    chili seasoning to taste

I like to add frozen corn, and green chili’s to mine.

  5. I use my pressure cooker for these meals and it works great (& in a lot less time). Just a note for campers: I am not a great camp cook, so I have learned to make these meals, with one change:
I fill the bag with water, then freeze. When I go camping, the food doesnt need much additional ice to keep cold (depending on length of trip of course) and I can pour the entire contents into my dutch oven without needing to add water, and it cooks up just great. It makes for fast meals and I dont have to worry that I left ingediants at home.

    Cream Cheese Chicken

    6 chicken breasts cubed
1 envelope italian seasoning (the good seasons .7 oz)
1 square butter- put those 3 in the crock pot and cook on high for 2 hours.
Remove chicken with a slotted spoon leaving the butter in the crock pot. Add 1 can cream of chicken (14 oz) and 1 8 oz cream cheese to the butter, mix till creamy, add back in the chicken, stir. Serve over pasta or veggies. SO GOOD!

  10. I put 5 of these meals in the freezer the weekend after the original post. The following Friday, we had a huge rainstorm here in Enoch and our basement flooded, along with many of our neighbors. The next 3 days we spent cleaning clothes, toys, floors, walls and throwing away a lot of items unfortunately. Having those meals available to just throw in the crockpot and have dinner cooking while we worked was a blessing!! I could still provide a meal for my family even thru those tough days. It’s so comforting to know ready made meals are always on hand. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS IDEA!
