It's Back! National Consumer Panel! Get Rewards for shopping.

DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission.

If you haven’t requested to be on the National Consumer Panel, you will want to!  Many of you have said it has been pretty easy to do and not take a lot of your time.  Plus, you earn rewards!  I am STILL on the waiting list.  What is the deal??  I really want to do this. Don’t they know??

You will just need to head over to the National Consumer Panel and fill out a questionairre.  They are looking for specific deomographics to be a part of the panel.  If you are chosen, they will send you a scanner.  You will just scan everything you buy and then hook it up to your computer to download the information back to them once a week. They do studies on what products people buy. So that is why they need the information.

But, they are willing to reward you!  You can earn free stuff, or win special giveaways like vacations or cash.

However, they don’t accept applicants all of the time and it looks like they are doing it again right now.  So, even if you aren’t sure it is something you want to do, I would still try it out.  Many readers have told me how great it is.  And, you can always return the scanner- if you find it isn’t for you.

One of these days, I know I will finally be accepted!  I do so much shopping that maybe that is why they don’t want me… cuz I am not normal.  Who knows.  I’m still waiting though! 🙂

Oh, by the way, this is a great thing to help keep your kids occupied.  All of the feedback I have received said their kids thought it was so cool and were willing to help put the groceries away!

  1. I just wanted to tell you, I'm so excited! I just got an email saying that they sent the scanner and I should have it by tomorrow 😀 I can't wait to try this out…thanks for letting us know about it!

  2. I was selected and when I got the scanner and the details, I decided not to do it! It would take a VERY long time to actually earn enough points to get a good prize. If you have the time and want to do it, great, I thought that it wasn't worth it!

  3. I live in Morgan, and they said that they don't have scanners to issue for my area?

  4. I have been doing this for about 4 months. It is definitely a time commitment, and it will take several months (if not years) to earn a decent reward. But if you are willing to put in the time and stay committed, there are some nice prize options and they do occasionally send you free gifts just for participating (like a reusable shopping bag).

  6. I was selected about a month ago and it TRIPLED the time it took me to go grocery shopping. I too decided it wasn't worth my time. I have a large family and the time it took I just couldn't justify it.

  11. Just got my scanner this week. After doing several shopping trips I’m not sold yet. I have a hard enough time putting everything away, now I have to make sure to scan it, along with knowing the price and coupon amount on every item (with Smith’s I didn’t have to enter the price and with Walmart I did). I better get a LOT of points. This is an extra job on the side. Then I have to get DH to join in for all his purchases, too.
