All of the stores have advertised great prices on the Big Ticket items… but are they really the best prices?? I’ve put together a quick list of the hottest items that most stores have advertised. It should give you an idea of what store really does have the best Black Friday price and where you should plan to go to pick it up!

Best Buy- Opens at 12 Midnight Friday, the 25th (Will hand out tickets up to 2 hours prior to opening)

Keep in mind that stores may or may not have the same prices online. So if they are advertised in the Black Friday ad, you will know for sure they are available in-store. Only some deals will be available online.
****On top of these great deals, there will be a TON of online deals. Amazon beat or matched just about every store’s advertised prices last year. So, I did most of my shopping online with free shipping instead. I’ll be online posting Thanksgiving night and Black Friday early morning to post the great deals I find too!

Cristina, last year my brother-in-law camped outside from about 7:pm ( and I think they didn’t open til 2am last year) and was pretty close to the front of the line but most of the tickets were gone before they got to them.
Best buy always has great deals but the lines are always wrapped around the building. You have to go way early and be prepared to camp. It isn’t worth to me but then again I camp out at Joanns all night and lots of people think that is crazy ;o)

Yea last year we wanted a Nook and the Laptop for 200.00 & we were in line from 5pm Thanksgiving Day until 3am when they started handing out the tickets. You can get the ticket & then go back before like 11am to get the item so you can shop somewhere else if you need too.
They handed the last ticket to the person 2 people in front of us. We were only like the 30th person in line. People had been in lne for days when we got their. I will not miss out on my family again for that.

Also, Amazon is a great option because you usually don’t have to pay sales tax. On big ticket items this can be a lot of money. I just bought the Canon EOS Rebel T3 DSLR from them a few weeks ago and paid $509, but didn’t have to pay sales tax so I got it for practically the same price as the Black Friday sale.

Historically there has been little logic behind when they start. There has already been some deals from Walmart and Best Buy live. What tends to be best is watch deal sites, black friday sites and facebook. You will see people start posting a site is live.

you fin the item you want most and line up by that crate, they don’t allow people to line up until 10, and then shop at 12. If it is a big ticket item you want go at 10. Most toys are there all night.

Shae – people do just huddle around the crates since the store is open 24 hours. Last year at the Orem Walmart, there wasn’t really a line around some of the items – just people grouping. The set-up for the electronics seemed to be more organized.

From my experience with black friday shopping at Walmart, they open way before the times listed, but your not allowed to touch anything that’s on sale until the time stated. Like toys, movies and apparel at 10am. They have employees “stand guard” ensuring that you don’t grab anything early. Then when it hit’s 10 it’s a free for all and as soon as you have your items, you can check out. (You don’t have to wait around to check out, you can check out at 10:01 if you want.) If your wanting to buy electronics, they have lines that form, and the items are passed out right at 12. At least that’s how it has been for the past few years at the stores I have been to…

At the Alaska walmart that I was at last year small items like the dvds toys and clothing were up for grabs anytime you got into the store but they would not ring up at the cash register until midnight so it was lame for those of us who showed up later in the day (they were open 24 hours like always prior to the sale) and most people already had their baskets filled and were just waiting to check out. Big ticket items had a line at customer service and you had to ge ta wrist band to pick them up when the time came to be able to purchase them. I have quickly become less and less of a fan of walmart on black friday it is just way too much. they were sold out of everything I wanted last year and the store had only been ready to purchase for 5 minutes ðŸ™

most stores are already sold out of this item. the $99 isn’t their black friday sale just the regular price as far as I’ve been able to see. I tried to purchase it on my phone the other night from their website but couldn’t get past the cart, then the next morning it was no longer available and suggested checking at individual stores. ðŸ™

regarding ToysRUs, I had a bad experience there yesterday, so just a heads up to all of you out there. Their add started yesterday, stating squinkies bogo 1/2 off, however, apparently that includes everything..except the boy squinkies. Then, they had a big front bay of Monster High dolls with 1 sign that stated the dolls were originally 21.99-14.99 on sale for 7.99. Not the case! it was only about 3 of the entire display that were actually on for 7.99. Then to top it all off, I had a coupon for spend $75 get a $10 gift card. I spent $220.00 but was not given my gift card because i had purchased too many electronics, and the gift card coupon did not qualify for those. So deceiving! I voiced my opinion to the manager, who inturn replied “yeah, thats how they trick you.” Thanks alot Toys R Us.

My sister was at the one in Layton last week right before a sale was supposed to be starting. They were already “out” of almost everything that was listed as a main deal in the ad…and the sale hadn’t even begun yet. Then they were very. very rude to her when she asked for help and went to check out. She ended up telling them nevermind and leaving empty handed.
You might do better to price math their ad elsewhere since they seem to have no stock on sale items.

Weeeeeeee! Black Friday is my favorite!! Me and my friend plan for weeks! Last year we were at Toys R Us about 8pm, sitting in chairs about 20 people from the door. Our Toys R Us is good, because they only let about 20 people in the store at a time. First group goes in, they are given a certain amount of time and when some start to come out, they let others in. So there is no smashing thru the door, etc. Now that the stores are opening earlier, it’s going to be more of a mad rush. I do not have any “have to haves” this year, but still fun all the same. Thinking about hitting Best Buy very early for the tv, guess I’ll see how many are camped out there before hand. Our Walmart is open 24 hrs, so you can be in the store long before the sales start, scout out where stuff is and get in line if needed, get food, use the bathroom, all that fun stuff! I love the craziness, the racing from store to store. It’s a blast! I hope everyone gets what they want/need. Enjoy and be safe! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Okay, this might be a silly question, but I’m not super familiar with how Black Friday works. I did go into a few stores early morning last year, but that is all the experience I have with it. If I decide to stay home this year and try for online deals, when should I plan to be awake? Should I be up from midnight to 3 am? Or do I sleep in a little and try my luck at 5 am? Should I look through the Black Friday ads and plan which stores to look at based on the ads? (I realize that not everything is the same online and in store.) I would love any information from those of you who have successfully nagivated Black Friday at home through online shopping. Thanks in advance!

I REALLY need to get at lease a washer, but I was hoping for a dryer too. I missed the special you posted about 6 months back when the Whirlpool washer/dryer combo was $800 at Sears because my husband was out of work. Now I really need to get one and would love to get that deal again for the quality. I was looking for high quality, frontloaders, preferrably stackable and would love to pay only $800. Have you seen anything? I saw a Frigidaire set for $800, but it was at RC Willey where they only have a few per store and you have to wait outside for hours in the cold and never know if you’ll get one. Wish I could afford it before, but since I couldn’t, now I’m just hoping to find the same deal. Any luck?

Now that stores are opening on Thanksgiving day, you have to miss out on some part of Thanksgiving with your family to get a ticket! Black Friday deals should remain on Black Friday, but they won’t as long as people are showing up! Its understandable to wait in a line starting in the evening on Thanksgiving, but now you’ll have to wait in a line starting mid morning! If only we could control our urges and show these big companies that they don’t control when we shop, they can’t take us away from our families, we will choose not to shop till Black Friday! My question is….Walmart states that they will open at 10 pm, but they will not start offering their Black Friday deals on electronics until midnight. Can you shop in the electronic area and pick up your items and hold them until 12 to pay for them? Or is the electronic area going to be shut down until 12:00?

Our walmart will not let you touch the items until sale time. They will have people standing guard around everything. Once the sale time hits, which is all different times this year, they will unwrap the items and you go for it. Items like Ipod, Xboxes, etc will be behind the counter, or one year they gave out tickets so you have to wait in the line to get them. anything not on sale you can put in your cart. I would suggest NOT taking a cart as you can not move them around the store. People end up leaving them, blocking all the aisles, turns in a jungle mess, you can’t even move around. In the Target ad right now I saw the Nintendo Wii Game System with New Super Mario Brothers game and Super Mario Galaxy Music CD for $150.00. The deal right now is that it also includes the brand new just released Zelda game (50.00 value.) I was at the store and spoke to the clerk in electronics to be sure I understood it correctly. So basically the system is just $100.00. Great deal…too bad I just need the Zelda game! 🙂

Sorry to be a dumb dumb… but when you say they open Friday at 12:00 midnight (Kohls) Is it Friday night?? or Friday am (Thursday pm)?? Does that make sense? I am not really one to shop the stores on crazy Friday.. but I am thinking about it cause I like Kohls.

Just wanted to put something out there, the Xbox 4g is not worth it! Can not hold games on 4g, probably can’t even get on line, not enough memory or whatever. My son, 15, says no way to that one, don’t bother. Will be very frustrated that games won’t save or whatever. I don’t understand the whole thing, but with the new Xboxes you can not put a bigger hard drive on them. My son has an older one with a huge hard drive, says the 4g is awful. Just so people know and don’t have husbands/boyfriends/kids freaking that it won’t save their games.
