Last night when I ran to Target, I noticed something that happens quite frequently. But, it may not be common knowledge. So I wanted to make sure I shared it with all of you.
Right now, you can purchase 4 boxes of Kellogg’s Fruit Snacks and get a 5th one free. Well guess what? The boxes that were $2.04 actually end up being cheaper than the Target brand of Fruit Snacks. Only $1.63 each! (When you purchase 5). So of course the two shelves were all cleared out.
But this is the hint. People only tend to purchase things where the Target Promotion Card is hanging. There was an entire shelf of fruit snacks that were the same size and quantity requirement. 10 Packs and 9 oz. They didn’t have a tab hanging so no one had thought that they were included in the deal too.
So I quickly took them over to the Red Target Price Scanners that are all over the store and it told me it was part of the promotion! SCORE!
Tips:
- Read the Promotional Hang Tag to see all of the items that are included in the promotion.
- Check the size requirements. If they are all “Sold out” see if there are other boxes that are the same sizes and scan at a Price Checker.
I cannot tell you how many times this happens and people just don’t take the time to double check. So the next time you think that your store is out-of-stock, check again! You will be surprised how many times they really aren’t!

You can also use the scanner to check if there is stock in the back. I found the toy I needed that day for a kid’s party but the box looked like it had been run over by a truck. I scanned it and they had 15 in the back! I asked a clerk to check and they were more than happy to help :)!

Thanks! I’ll be sure to check more closely. I hate when promo things are out of stock. I pretty much have given up on the drug stores lately because the good stuff is always out of stock, totally, even when I ask about it. They always tell me whatever is on the shelf is all they have. I know that’s not true, but that’s what they always say.

ALSO DON’T FORGET TO CHECK END CAPS AS YOU ARE GOING THROUGH THE STORES. I’VE SEEN WHERE ITEMS ARE GONE AT THEIR REGULAR SPOT IN THE AISLE, BUT THEY HAVE STOCKED AN END-CAP WITH WITH THE SAME ITEM.
