  6. You really should post that you have to enter your credit card info to start……… “We require your credit card information in order to activate your free 30 day trial.” So, yes, it signs you up for a ‘club’. And I refuse to give my credit card number for something like this…… I don’t care how good the “deal” is. You’ve done this before…… so I’m much more careful about things since you took over. Also, you should post that some of your links are ‘affiliates’….. meaning you get a tiny little percentage when somebody buys thru your link. Also not posting that they’re affiliates is against FCC rules. We do pay attention.

  7. I ran as you suggested, and got all the way to checkout, then noticed something you failed to mention. You should have said on your post this will sign you up for a 30 day trial that you have to cancel. No thanks!

  8. I agree with all the comments above. Since ownership has changed on this website I have been much more skeptical of the posted offers and find out that there is information left out about the offers. It feels tricky. I never felt that way before with previous ownership. I have been phasing away from looking at Freebies2Deals and using other savings sites because of this.

  9. I am also upset that it wasn’t mentioned in the post that it will sign you up for a membership. I hate those type of things. It should have been mentioned in the post before I gave them my email. What is going on with this site? Also I tried to post a comment a long time ago about it (before there were any) and it never appeared…

  10. Wish I had read these comments first. I just “ran” as suggested and didn’t notice the “trial membership” until the very moment I submitted my order. It looks like no easy thing to undo as there is not a cancel membership button anywhere. I had to submit a request to cancel the trial membership and was told someone would be in touch. I wish you had stated this in your alert, first thing. This is a money-saving website and I’ve got no room in my budget for bait-and-switch techniques that will quickly take MY money so that YOUR link gives YOU money. You can do better than this.

  11. I also agree with the comments above, it is shady.

  12. Don’t fall for it. I cancelled my membership with them two full weeks before the trial end date. I was charged anyway. 12 emails and 4 weeks later, I have yet to see my refund. They even told me to talk to my bank about the refund. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. If you read the BBB site about Thrive Market, you will see this is a longstanding problem with this company.

  13. You guys…it certainly wasn’t my intention to try and deceive anybody! I found out that they had free shipping today and was super excited to get a hot offer out there as soon as possible! In fact, I ordered the coconut oil myself a while back (and paid shipping) and I received it just fine. I was also able to cancel very easily.

It is up to you if you want to sign up or not and receive the free coconut oil. Looking at it now, I can see it clearly states that you will be signed up for a trial membership when you go to checkout. So it’s up to you if you wan’t to proceed or not. Even though it wasn’t stated here, Thrive clearly mentions it on the checkout page, so it’s definitely not deceitful.

    • Yes Thrive mentions it on their site but no one is accusing Thrive of being deceitful. But if you don’t see that this post is deceitful than you’re the only one. If you are posting a freebie on YOUR site it is definitely YOUR responsibility to tell people the whole story. Some people may still want a deal like this but many, based on the comments, do not. This is a classic bait and switch and it just makes you look bad, especially if you are an affiliate (which I assume you are). The past owner of this site spent a lot of time building up it’s trustworthy reputation and its sad to see you abuse her loyal followers this way. Take a tip and just be completely upfront and honest with your readers. It will help both them and you.

      • As I mentioned already, that certainly wasn’t my intention. When I’m posting almost 100 deals a day, certainly one is bound to get through the cracks every so often here and there. Why would I want to intentionally deceive my loyal readers??? Prices and deals are constantly changing, so it’s a lot to stay on top of! Anyways, sorry if anyone thought this was deceitful! It’s still up to you if you would like to get the deal or not. Let’s move on to today’s deals now…

  14. I went on to order this, and when I went to check out, it said shipping fee. I thought it would take it off later…but it didn’t. I was charged a shipping fee. I contacted them to question this. The return email stated that free shipping was NOT available for this free offer. Still confused.

  15. Ugh, just had to fill out a dispute with my credit card for the annual fee with thrive. I cancelled my membership right after ordering my coconut oil on 9/1, got an email confirming my cancellation request but still got charged on 10/2.
