Well this is a game changer! Walmart has rolled out a pilot program in select areas for their new Shipping Pass program. This is Walmart’s way of competing with Amazon Prime.
You can get FREE Unlimited 2-day shipping at Walmart.com for just $49.00 a year. Plus, the Shipping Pass also includes FREE returns online or in store. If you have been on Walmart’s website lately you may have seen this little icon pop up next to the price of the items you are looking at:
If this logo appears next to the purchase price, that is how you know that it qualifies for the Shipping Pass 2-day shipping. Obviously this program is super new and I am sure more details will be coming. Like when it will roll out nation wide, etc.
What do you all think? Would you switch from Amazon Prime which is $99/year to Walmart Shipping Pass for $49/year? Would you do both programs? Could this possibly force Amazon to lower their Prime Membership prices to retain customers? I don’t know, it will definitely be interesting to see what happens. There are pros and cons to both programs. I would love to hear what you think in the comments below.
***Shipping Pass is not available in all areas yet. It is currently in the Pilot Program stage.
