If you didn’t know, Sports Authority is going out of business and is closing all it’s stores throughout the country. They have just started their “Going Out Of Business Sale” online and prices are marked up to 40% off!
These kinds of sales are awesome, but you do need to be careful about a couple of things:
- These are typically FINAL SALES. That means that you can’t return or exchange any items purchased. So don’t buy on a whim just because something is a good deal. If that item isn’t exactly what you want you will just waste money instead of saving it. Be sure to ask an associate or read the fine print prior to purchasing anything at a “Going Out Of Business” Sale.
- Compare to other retailers. Compare prices of the discounted items at Sports Authority to stores like Dicks Sporting Goods and Amazon to make sure you are getting the best price. Sometimes the deeper discounts don’t always mean that is the best price available. Especially, if the regular price was higher to begin with.
- The longer an item stays available the lower the price will go. Clearance shopping is a guessing game. You will have to decide if you want to take the first markdown on an item or if you want to chance it and see if it will still be in stock when the next markdown happens. If it is something you have really been wanting and there are limited quantities I wouldn’t wait too long to snatch it up. However, if there seems to be a surplus of something you think would be cool to have, then you could possibly wait for the price to drop lower and still be able to get the item.
If you keep these things in mind when shopping this sale you will be able to get the absolute best prices! Here are a couple of good deals that I saw browsing the sale:
It is baseball season right now and there are some great deals on baseball cleats for boys and girls. Grab Easton Girls Mako 2.0 Baseball Cleats for just $17.99 or Rawlings Boys Gater Low Baseball Cleats for $14.99!
There are cleats for football, soccer, golf and lacrosse included in the sale too. So if you want to plan for an upcoming season and snag those now you could.
These Nike Toddler Boys KD VII low Baskeball Shoes are just $19.77 (regularly $42.00) These would be an adorable baby shower gift!
Snowboard boots, bindings, goggles and helmets are all on sale as well. Grab the Salomon Women’s Scarlet Boa Snowboard Boots for $84.99. The Burton Men’s Invader Snowboard Boots are $74.95 and the kids Burton Mini Grom Snowboard Boots are $34.97.
These are just a couple of the deals I found. There are thousand of apparel items included. All sporting equipment for baseball, football, basketball and more are available as well. It would be well be worth your time to check out each category. Especially if you have something specific you are looking for.
It doesn’t look like larger items are being featured online. So if you are wanting ski’s, snowboards, exercise equipment, bikes, basketball hoops etc. You will need to head in store.
