how to get a deal on kids clothing

I know I post a lot of deals on Freebies2Deals….Ok, a ton!  Not all of the deals I post will work for everyone depending on what you are in need of and your budget. And you definitely shouldn’t feel like you should be purchasing every crazy deal I post. But I thought it might be nice for you guys to see what I actually buy. And today’s Children’s Place deal was a perfect example!

I only have 1 little girl and 1 little boy right now.  And our kids are the oldest grandkids in the family.  So we don’t get hand-me-downs from anyone.  But honestly, with the kinds of deals I usually wait for when it comes to kid’s clothes, we usually make out like bandits. 😉  Then we can give our kid’s clothing to other family members or friends as soon as they grow out of them.

Everything I pictured above I actually purchased for my kids this morning from The Children’s Place sale!  As a Mom, I can think about what my kids have in their closets, what items will still fit this Spring/Summer and what items and in what colors I will need to make outfits work.  So using that info along with THE BEST priced items during today’s sale is how I picked what I did.  There are a lot of items my kids still need (like shorts).. but I wasn’t totally on board with the prices they had.  So I will wait a little longer and hold out to see what else pops up from places like Old Navy or Carters.

I’ve had such a great experience with the quality of clothing from The Children’s Place that I typically purchase shirts I like in multiple colors.  The Girl’s Tees I pictured above were only $2.78 after coupon code!

For all 16 items I purchased, including the two pairs of shoes, I paid $61.33!  And shipping was free.  That’s only $3.83 per item.

And you know why I love this deal even more?  Because I don’t have to leave my house.  Seriously, isn’t being a Mom so crazy that it makes it hard to actually go to a store?  And I know what sizes my kids are.  So when stores have Free Shipping Promos and a coupon code to save even more, I am all over it!

If you want to grab items for your kids from The Children’s Place sale, all of the details and promo codes you can use are over here from this morning’s post.

One other quick tip:  Make sure you sign up for the “My Place Rewards”.  It’s free and you basically earn points each time you shop online or in-store. You will earn 5 points for every $1 you spend.  Once you hit 1,000 points, you will get a FREE $5 credit to use at The Children’s Place.  I had one waiting for me to use today.  So my total would have been around $65.  But I was able to stack the 30% off promo code and $5 off Reward Code to save even more.

  3. This is how I do it, too. The $10 off $25 coupons from kohls, penny’s, and Macy’s help me get the same deals ($2-$4/item) on their clearance racks each season.

  5. I tried using the code you have above and it wouldn’t let me use it without their Credit Card. So I looked around and found this code: 5PB001FAF and it actually saved me 3 dollars. Hope this can help others that don’t want to sign up for the store credit card!

Thank you sooo much for sharing these AMAZING deals, I just got all our Easter Clothes and summer clothes for $60. You are awesome!!

  6. I ordered back in January during another one of their free shipping events with 25% off and got 17 items for an average of $3.77. I received my order in less than 1 week. I love their boy’s jeans with the adjustable waist. I usually buy from Walmart and end up with holes in the knees in no time. The overall quality of their clothing seems great and you can’t beat free shipping with the additional % off. I’m thinking of buying a size up because its such a great deal. Thanks, Melea!

  7. Once again, you’ve saved me so much money! I’ve been looking for Easter dresses for my 3 girls for weeks now and haven’t been able to find much for under $20 a dress. I just scored all three of them matching dresses with shrugs and one pair of sandles for $45. I’m so excited! Thank you!

  8. I love when the free shipping deal pops up! I missed the last one but got it this time. I bought my son 6 pairs of jeans, 13 graphic tees and two pairs of sunglasses for 88.11 shipped. It’s a little more than what you paid but I think it was still pretty good. He needed jeans because for some reason his 2T jeans are not working out for him so much anymore 😉 Like you said I was not crazy on the shorts prices but my son def. does need them so I will just keep looking for those 🙂
