Since this offer is working again AND a lot of you want “The Good Dinosaur” , “Snow White” and other upcoming releases like Zootopia, I wanted to re-post and let you guys know how I snag my Disney DVDs and Blu-Rays for super cheap!
Two years ago, I saw the emails for the Disney Movie Club and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try it out because they just always seem to good to be true… BUT- I figured if anyone should test it out it would be me and then I could let you guys know what I thought. Well– two years later I am still a member. Why? Because the deals are just too great to cancel–even after hitting my Member Commitment!
Here’s what I did:
At the beginning of 2013, I purchased any of the movies our family wanted that DIDN’T have a coupon or discount I could use to purchase at the store instead. Disney Movie coupons are rare.
I ended up purchasing the following movies for $1 shipped!!!
- The Tigger Movie (Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital)
- John Carter (Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital)
- UP (Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital)
- Prince of Persia (Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital)
Let’s be generous and say that each of those movies (they were new releases at the time) were only $20. So that was at least $80 worth of movies for only $1.
After signing up and getting those 4 Movies for a buck, I had two years to hit my Membership Commitment. Membership Commitment means I have to pay full price for 5 Movies. Since I had two full years and new movies are being released all of the time, I figured I would be totally fine. And I was right because within 6 months I had hit my membership commitment! Regular price movies were anywhere from $17- $29 depending on the title and how recently it was released. So I was VERY strategic in which 5 movies I ended up picking.
After you hit your Membership Commitment, you get VIP Status. That means, you get offers that are pretty awesome! Disney Favorites, Marvel Movies and even grown-up movies like Guardians of the Galaxy. For example, right now because I am a VIP, I can score Guardians of the Galaxy on Blu-Ray, 3D, Digital for $14.98!! (This is selling for $22.99 right now on Amazon) Or just the Blu-Ray version for $12.48! ( $22.96 on Walmart)
I’m saving over $10 on new release movies with the membership! And those offers are all over on their site for the Disney Animation Movies, Grown-Up Movies and classics. They also have offers that pop up all of the time for Buy 1, get 1 50% off or Buy 2, Get 25% off!
The only thing that you will have to remember to do is decline or accept the Monthly Featured Titles. Back in the day with other music or movie memberships, you had to decline by actually mailing back a form saying you didn’t want the item. Or they would just ship it to you and you would have to return it. The thing that is good about this Disney Movie Club is that they will email you!! So each month you will get an email asking you to accept or decline. Within 2 minutes, you are done! If you don’t do that or forget, they will charge you for the movie and ship it your way. I actually forgot to do it one month… guess what month… November!! I was just too busy with Freebies2Deals and Black Friday and all of that. They mailed me the movie and I didn’t want it because I could get a better deal at the store on that particular DVD. So I just wrote return to sender, stuck it back in the mail and Disney credited my account back! Super simple! They make it easy!
Ok, so now that I have told you why I love the Disney Movie Club, it’s time to also let you know that right now they are doing the same promotion they did when I signed up 2 years ago! Grab 4 Disney Movies for only $1! Plus, your order ships free!
To Get Started:
- Head Here and Pick the 4 Movies you Want for $1. Your grand total today will be $1 shipped.
NOTE: They typically don’t have the New Release Movies in the 4 for $1 deal. But you will see them marked down with different deals once your account is live, like the Marvel ones I showed above. If you have other movies you want to add to your collection that aren’t New Releases, you can use this deal to get 4 of those for only $1. And if you have movies like The Good Dino, Cinderella, Inside out and Aladdin you want to purchase, you can grab them as commitment items. They will also have offers for discounted movies regularly once you are a member (even new releases). So you just need to compare if it is cheaper to purchase through DisneyMovies as one of your commitments. Or if it is cheaper to purchase on Amazon or elsewhere—it all will depend on the movie. - You will have the option to add a 5th movie for only $14.95 (This will count towards your Membership Commitment.) Totally optional. But it will save you $5-$10 by doing it now instead of sometime in the next 2 years.
- Checkout and your movies should arrive in 2-3 weeks. However, mine came faster than that.
If you are already planning on purchasing The Good Dino, Zootopia, the newly released Snow White from the vault, you might want to grab 4 other DVDs or Blu-Rays with the offer above. Then you can purchase The Good Dino, Snow White and Zootopia (when it releases to DVD) to count towards your purchase commitment!
Within the next year, Finding Dory, Zootopia, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Good Dinosaur and more will be releasing to DVD/Blu-Ray! So if coupon offers don’t pop up for them to purchase in-store, you could purchase them to count towards your purchase commitment! The faster you get through your purchase commitment, the faster you can grab those crazy deals (like the Guardians of the Galaxy deal I posted above).
- So if you haven’t done the math, you will get at least $80 worth of movies for $1. (It’s probably closer to $95)
- Buy 5 Full-Price Movies within 2 years. Should be anywhere from $100- $125 plus shipping. (Remember, only purchase movies that you can’t get a better deal in-store)
- Total cost for 9 movies should be anywhere from $101-$126!! That’s $11.20- $14 per movie!!!
See why I love these guys?? Then keep your membership going, and you will save $10- $15 on future movie promotions they fun! You shouldn’t ever have to pay full price for a Disney Movie again!
**This Buy 4 for $1 offer can end at anytime without notice. So please, please keep that in mind. Last time I posted it, the offer changed to Buy 3 for $1 after a few hours.
And don’t forget! Inside each Disney DVD or Blu-Ray is a Disney Movies Rewards code you can enter in online that will earn you points. You can turn around and use those points to redeem FREE Disney Gift Cards, FREE Movies and more! I’ve received a ton of FREE Disney Gift Cards from them–and then I turn around and use them at Disneyland!

To hit your commitment, do you have to but it from them at full price? Or do you somehow enter that you purchased a movie? And does that mean full price only, or just no deal from them, meaning could you use a coupon or if there was a sale at the store would that count?
Melea Johnson
You have to buy it from their site at full price. (Their full price changes depending on the movie.) So that is why I only purchased movies from them that I couldn’t get a deal at the store or online anywhere else….And if you purchase those 5 full price movies for your Commitment and pick movies that AREN’T new releases, you might find some of them are better deals but you are still paying full price. So no, you can’t buy them at the store. But that’s why I only purchase the movies that don’t have a coupon or deal on the Disney Movie Club website to reach my 5 movie commitment. Hope that makes sense! (After you hit that 5 movie commitment, there are crazy deals left and right… better than in-store. )

When I click the link, it says “Get 3 Disney Movies for $1.99 each.”
Melea Johnson
Hey Chelsea… Did you click the Blue “Join Now and Start Saving”?? I just did that and the 4 for $1 is still there?
Michelle
If you sign up thru Swagbucks, you get 1250 SB which you could trade in for almost $15 in Amazon gift cards.
Melea Johnson
haha, SO glad I could be the guinea pig! 😉
Sarah
I signed into my mydisneyrewards.com account and clicked on Special Offers and it offered me 5 movies for $1. Just in case any one else has an account. 🙂
Kristi
I thought you couldn’t get brand new releases like Aladdin when you first start out?
Kristi
It tells me those movies are only available to members. I called and they said the new ones that are in combo packs usually aren’t a part of it.

I just joined a little over a month ago when I got a mailer. It had the offer for 4 movies at $1.99 each but said if I went online that it would give me 5 movies for $1. Then I had the option for a 6th movie for $8.95 (did not count for the commitment, and a 7th movie for $11.95 (DID count towards the commitment). I took advantage of both of those and paid $21.00 for 7 movies and got a free Frozen blanket with my order! For my signup, the commitment is to only buy 3 movies at the full price. I went back a couple weeks later and it offered me a BOGO 50% off. So I ordered the 3D verisons of Antman AND The Good Dinosaur, which by themselves are at LEAST $30 in the stores. With tax and shipping, I paid a total of $50.41. That gave me my 2nd commitment. So right now I’m at 9 movies, averaging about $8 per movie. And if I were to want to, they are offering me that same BOGO 50% off, so I could easily fulfill my commitment soon. I’m so glad I rejoined. I had done this years ago and the deals weren’t quite as good, so I was skeptical to do it again. But it already has been so beneficial to start it up again. Highly recommended!
Hope
It looks like I can send an email to anyone who may want to join to get 5 movies (blu-ray or dvd) for $.1 So if you can’t get it on your own feel free to leave your email and I’ll send it your way. 🙂

I have never found a better deal on their site for new releases than on Amazon, Target, Best Buy, etc. Am I doing something wrong? I hit my purchase commitment a long time ago.
Carli
I have decided to purchase my movies with Amazon prime. I just buy the SD version so it’s $14.99. Then I can watch on any device anytime. I have to have Internet to stream them but I usually do. Can anyone tell me why joining the club would be better? Or what a downfall is of the way I’m doing it?
Hope
I just joined about one month ago and before I did I calculated how much I would be spending total if I were to purchase the blu ray option. I calculated I would be spending between $11.85 to $12.20 per movie if I were to take best advantage of the deals. When I joined, the offer was $1 for 5 movies. You could buy a 6th movie for 11.95 that would go toward your purchase commitment and a 7th for $8.95 that would not go toward your commitment so I only have to buy 3 at full price while getting 7 blu-rays w/dvd (and some including digital copies) for only $21.90 . This deal right now is 4 for a $1 but I can send you an email so that you could get the 5 for a $1 as well. So it would be $3 cheaper per movie and you will be getting a blu ray, dvd and some have a digital copy as well. Also you don’t have to worry about whether or not you have internet connection. I just did a quick calculation and it would be just over $9 to get them in dvd format which I believe it is the same quality as the SD version on amazon. So I definitely think it is worth it! But I can see how being able to access the movies on any device would be nice as well.
Hope
Melea, you mentioned that you only buy movies that you haven’t seen good deals or coupons for… I have never found coupons for Disney movies before. Where do you find them?
Angela C.
There is a Promo code that gives you 5 or $1, the 6th is $11.95 and 7th is $8.95. You also only have to commit to buying 3 movies in the next 24 months, and that 6th one that you get for 11.95 actually counts towards that 3. I just got 6 movies for $21! And only have to get 2 more now at full price.
Thanks for posting!
