If you haven’t already heard, here is an important recall you’ll want to know about if you own a Nissan or Infiniti. There are 2 accidents in which the passenger airbag did not deploy. The vehicle occupant classification system software may incorrectly classify the passenger seat as empty, deactivating the airbag and increasing the risk of an injury in a crash. The Affected vehicles include the:
- 2013-2014 Altima sedan and Sentra small car and Pathfinder SUV
- 2013-2014 Leaf electric car
- 2013 Infiniti JX35 crossover vehicle
- 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedan and QX60 crossover
- 2013 Nissan NV 200 cargo van
The recall, which entails updating the software free of charge, is expected to begin in mid-April so keep your eyes open for any mail from the dealership. Everything you need to know about how to correct the recall will be in the letter or you can call your local dealership.
