Heads up! Neilsen Consumer Panel has opened up applicant spots again. And, they usually don’t stay open for that long.
If you are accepted, they will send you a home scanner. You will be required to scan all of the barcodes of items you purchase. Then, once a week you will send them the information from the scanner online. In exchange, you will earn points for your work that you can redeem to enter sweepstakes, contests and earn prizes.
If you are looking to earn free products, and have the time to do it, I would definitely apply! My readers have been split down the middle whether it was worth the time to do it or not. Some have LOVED it and others thought it was too time consuming. But since they don’t accept everyone, you might as well apply and then if you are accepted try it out. If you don’t like it, you can always return the scanner and not do it anymore!
If you have a Landline, click here to apply.
If you only have a cellphone, click here to apply.
Let us know if you get accepted!

I am sending mine back. Be the time I get home from the store I am in no mood to spend 30 minutes scanning and answering several questions about each item. It would be totally different if you could take the scanner to the store and scan as you put things in the cart, but they won't let you do that. I also found some of the questions/instructions a little confusing. Points don't add up very quickly, and it takes a lot of points to earn items. I just wanted to share my experience so people know what they are getting into. It's definitely a commitment, but if you have the time and patience you might find it worth while.

I've been doing it for about 3 months. I agree with Kendra, it really takes alot of points to get the good items. I am going to send mine back soon.

I did it for a year and it was a pain in the butt.you have to scan each iteam put in how many you bought and how much it was and answer if it was on sale.It took forever and I ended up haveing enough point to get a bbq set after a yearand that was it. on the good side when I sent my scanner back they sent me a check for 30.00

I've never done it, but I got an email today saying that I was accepted. We're going to try it out and see what happens. If it turns out to be too much of a "pain" to do like these other readers said, then we'll return it.
