If you are new to deal hunting, or have been doing it for awhile, there are a few things I wanted to make sure we all knew.
With deal sites like mine, we get the word out about a deal a TON faster than many retailers anticipate. The up side is that you guys get to grab it. The down side is that the retailer is usually not ready for the kind of traffic they are receiving and end up taking down the deal or have it expire earlier than the expiration date. When this happens, it can be definitely frustrating for all of us!
In rare circumstances, the retailer will end up cancelling orders and not shipping them out. When this happens, you will definitely want to email them and complain. If a deal is offered, they need to be able to fulfill all orders that were placed with that deal- until it was unavailable.
Most of the time that won’t happen. But I wanted to give you a heads up, just in case it does this Holiday Season.
With “Daily Deal” sites, or with free samples, the item is offered until it sells out. When a hot item goes up, this can take anywhere from a matter of minutes to a few hours to sell out. So, it is imperative that you jump on it as soon as you see it. Or the next time you visit the site, the offer will be over.
With other online deals that different retailers offer, they usually have an expiration date that we can go off of. If there is an expiration date, I will list it in the post. If there isn’t, that is when things get trickier.
Without an expiration date, the retailer can change the deal at anytime or even take it down. So, when you see deals without an expiration, those are another type of deal you will want to jump on. Amazon is a prime example of this. Their prices will jump up and down all day sometimes- just depending on how many people are purchasing the item.
I hope this gives you a little insight into how online deals and samples work. When we are all looking for incredible deals on Christmas presents, sometimes moving fast is the only way to save some money. So good luck shopping and keep that in mind in the upcoming weeks!
