Summer can get expensive, there is no doubt about that. That being said, it doesn’t have to be. There are plenty of cheap summer activities you can enjoy without breaking the bank.

Explore Local Parks

It’s finally warm outside! Head out to explore the local parks! You might even have some nature reserves and botanical gardens to check out too! It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, have a picnic, get some sun, etc. 

Have a Beach Day

Do you live near a beach or a lake? Head to the water!! For our family, this is the best way to spend a day in the summer. We love swimming and floating and just enjoying time on the water. 

Host a Backyard Barbecue

Potluck BBQs are a great way to enjoy some great food and the company of your family and friends. It’s great because everyone can pitch in on the food and no one is solely responsible for the cost of the food. 

Take a Bike Ride

Hop on the bikes and explore your neighborhood with your family. So much fun and a great way to stay active!

Visit Local Farmers’ Markets

I love love love farmer’s markets. The food is great, you are supporting local farmers and they are just so much fun! The vibe at Farmer’s Markets is just so much fun and seeing the talent of local artisans is awesome. You might be surprised to learn just how talented those in your local community are. 

Go Hiking

Ready to see some great views and get some fresh air? Hiking is a great way to stay active and enjoy the outdoors without spending a fortune.
