Can you believe summer break is almost over? I know many that are headed back this week, it’s crazy. We still have a month before we’ll start the next school year but I’ve been getting my list of things to do together before that day comes! I always say, you can never be too prepared!

Backpacks and uniforms bought, washed and ready – We get new backpacks every year and with the awesome back to school deals we’ve been seeing it’s a great time to grab a couple. Then I’ll take last year’s bags and use them for emergency bags. Also don’t forget to wash your kid’s school uniforms before that first day. And get your first day of school sign ready for pictures!

Lunchboxes, ice packs and ideas – Double check your lunchboxes make sure they’re good for next year and get your icepacks ready. Also, I love having a list of ideas for home lunches that my kids can pick from the night before. Then it’s not a stress putting them together in the morning. So I have plans to create an idea list of lunches before school starts.

School supplies and essentials – Don’t let the deals pass you buy. Check your supply closet and make sure you have what your kids are going to need for the coming school year. Make sure you have enough pencils, pens, crayons as well as graphing calculators for your older students.

Paper products – If you haven’t gotten your teachers donation list yet it’s never too early to snag some of the items they usually have requested. Most of the teachers we have had ask for soft tissues (for cold season) and Clorox wipes. Those are great items to snag and donate to your student’s classroom.

Morning routine – Don’t wait to long before getting your kids used to going to bed early and waking up early. I even recommend having their alarm go off and get starting on their morning routine (breakfast, dressed, bed made) before school starts. I can be quite the adjustment for their little bodies.

Bonus: I also print pictures out and number them of different hair styles we can do in my girls’ hair before school. When they’re ready to have their hair done, they just tell me the number and we get it done. Makes for a smoother and easier morning.
