Yes, my friends, I am still focused on Halloween over here! I don’t know about you, but I am kind of over summer.  I am ready for cooler weather, sweaters, hoodies, boots and all things pumpkin! Also, of course, Halloween! That is why I am so focused on saving money on Halloween, because I like to get started early and I like to save money.

We recently moved into a new home and I am all about decorating it!  As it turns out, contrary to popular opinion, I don’t have to spend a fortune to do so! Here are some of my favorite tips on how to save on Halloween decor:

  • Shop at the dollar store.  The dollar store has some amazing holiday decor for such a good deal.  Seriously, you are going to be shocked at how many different decor pieces that you can buy for just $1 each.
  • Goodwill and thrift shops.  Why not buy used decor? It looks the same, but costs a LOT less.  I love finding good holiday decor pieces at thrift shops and these decor pieces are often are quite high quality.
  • Use what you have.  A couple of years ago, for Halloween, we created a scarecrow using my husband’s old giveaway clothes and filled it with hay, old backyard grass and other dried vegetation that came from our backyard.  It looked awesome, we got tons of compliments and it didn’t cost me anything.

What are your favorite budget-friendly tricks for decorating for Halloween?  I would love to throw some new ideas into the mix to go in with my new home this year.
