Utah families with preschool-age children can enroll now in UPSTART, a free at-home, computer-based preschool program sponsored by the state! Pre-registration is open online for the 2016-2017 program year and beyond—but hurry, spots fill up fast!
UPSTART uses Waterford’s award-winning, online adaptive learning curriculum to teach early reading, math and science lessons. Each child gets their very own personalized learning path designed to meet their individual skills and needs, and the curriculum includes games, songs and activities that children love.
In Utah, UPSTART is funded by the state and free for participating families. Free Internet and computers are also available for families who qualify.
Best of all, UPSTART takes just 15 minutes a day, 5 days per week and produces great results!
Independent research shows UPSTART children, on average, enter kindergarten at a kindergarten advanced level. External evaluators have also found that children using UPSTART have 2-3 times higher learning rates than those who don’t use the program, and that using UPSTART has positive long-term effects through 4th grade.

We just finished our year of doing Upstart and I recommend it to everyone. My 5 year old is reading words and is so much more prepared for Kindergarten now. I already have my 1 year old pre registered to start in 2018 because the waitlists for this amazing program get longer and longer the more people learn about it!
