Utah readers, have you been thinking about taking your family to Lagoon this summer, but want to save as much money as possible doing it? This post is for you!
Every year Lagoon seems to get more and more expensive to visit. This year is no different. Here are the current 2016 ticket prices for Lagoon:
- Regular Adult Single Day Ticket Prices (48″ or higher) are $53.95
- Youth Single Day Ticket Prices (48″ or under) are $38.50
A child 2 years of age and younger may enter the park and Lagoon A Beach at no charge. To participate on rides and special events a Youth Single Day Passport, Season Passport, or Individual Ride Tickets are required. Individual ride tickets are sold 2 for $1.00, rides vary between 4 to 10 tickets per ride. - Senior Citizen Single Day Prices are $47.95
So how can you enjoy this fun summer tradition without breaking the bank? Here is a list of ways you can save at Lagoon:
- Purchase discount single day passes at Costco for $45.99. Call ahead before you go to make sure your local store carries them.
- Purchase discount single day passes from Deseret Book a savings of up to $10.00. To get the discount a minimum purchase of $5.00 is required. See the Deseret Book website for more details. (A smart way to do this would be to purchase Christmas Gifts now and get the coupon for your family to use this Summer/Fall)
- Present a can of Coca Cola and SAVE $7.00 on a Regular Single Day Passport ($53.95 + tax) purchased before 12 noon. One can is valid for up to six (6) people. Not valid on Saturdays or with any other offer. Offer expires 10/30/2016.
- Discount for Active Military: Active Military can get into Lagoon for $39.00 + tax. Retired or Military Dependents can get into Lagoon for $46.95 + tax. A valid Military ID is required. Make sure you print out this coupon to get the deal.
- Bounce Back Promotion: Visit Lagoon Friday, June 10 through Saturday, August 13. Validate your Single Day Passport during your visit. Bounce Back for only $16.00 (+tax), with your Validation Coupon on any single day within ten (10) operational days of your validation date. Non-transferable. Date restriction apply. Offer expires 8/13/2016.
- Fox 13 Date Night at Lagoon: Present THIS coupon at a Lagoon Ticket Window and purchase TWO (2) Regular Single Day Passports for $53.95 (+ tax). Valid any Friday or Saturday after 5:00 p.m. Not valid with any other offer. Offer expires 8/13/2016.
- Golden Ticket Tuesdays: Senior Citizens age 65 and older present THIS Golden Ticket and photo ID at any Lagoon Ticket Window. Purchase a Senior Citizen Single Day Passport for $42.95 plus tax and purchase a second Single Day Passport for only $10.00 plus tax. Valid Tuesdays only during the 2014 Operating Season. So it pays to take Grandma or Grandpa with you!! Not valid with any other offer. Offer expires 8/13/2016.
- Fun Time Club: Sign up for the FunTime Club and Lagoon will email you each time there is a deal on tickets!
- Purchase a Lagoon Season Passport: If you are going to go to Lagoon more than TWICE in a season, the Season Passport will save you money! Purchase in group of 4 or more and they are only $115.95 + tax!
- Company Parties: Get your company or spouse’s company to do a Company Lagoon Day! Some companies will pay a portion of your ticket or even pay all of it. (And they can write it off on their taxes as employee retention, as a bonus…… you get the idea.)
- Share the $5.00 off coupon on the back of your ticket. If you have already been to Lagoon check the back of your entrance and parking tickets for a $5.00 coupon. One ticket is valid for up to six people. Share those coupons with your friends and family so that they can save!
Now that you have gotten into Lagoon for as cheap as possible, how can you save money once inside the park? Here are some ideas:
- Bring your own food. Lagoon is unique in that it lets patrons bring in their own food. Grab a cooler and fill it with sandwiches, water, and fruit then pack your favorite snacks to have on hand throughout the day. This will save you so much money, because like every other amusement park, the food is very overpriced at Lagoon.
- Purchase the 2016 Refillable Souvenir Cup: For only $29.99 +tax, you can purchase an All Season Refillable Souvenir Cup, which includes FREE soda refills all season long!
- Resist playing those super enticing fair games. It’s okay if they don’t guess your age, you don’t have to prove your skills on the ring toss or the horse race. How many stuffed animals are at your house, do you really need another one? Keep that money in your pocket!
- Discuss what you will and won’t be spending money on in the car. No one wants to plan a fun day for their family only to have it ruined by their children asking them to buy more things all day. Let your kids know what you will and won’t be spending money on at the park during the car ride there. That way the agreement is clear and your kids know what they can and can’t buy.
