If you don’t have a streaming device, you might want to grab the Amazon Fire TV Stick.  I have an Apple TV and right before Christmas picked up the Amazon Fire TV stick too.

Right now, Amazon has taken an extra $5 off the Amazon Fire TV Stick.  You can watch Netflix, Hulu and other streaming programs/apps off of it.  Not to mention that if you are an Amazon Prime Member, you have thousands of movies, shows and kids shows that you can watch for completely free with Prime Video. Our family has watched a few great ones together like Neverending Story & Land Before Time. You can also watch any of the HD movies you have purchased off of it too! (Like the “Kung Fu Panda” and “How to Train Your Dragon” HD deals I posted this morning.)

So why in the world do I have both??  Well, to be completely honest, I use my Apple TV more than the Amazon Fire Stick.  (If you do want an Apple TV, you can grab one for $65 over here.) BUT– with the Free Prime Videos, there are free movies that me and my family can watch through that device that aren’t available on Apple TV or even my On Demand service with cable.  So it’s paid for itself!

I have no clue when this little discount is over.  But 5 bucks is 5 bucks! 😉

  2. If you get a Roku, you can stream Amazon and Netflix, Hulu, and lots more. Roku seems to have the most versatility since it doesn’t have brand loyalty like Apple or Amazon.

  3. Malea,

ihave no idea how any of these work. Do they overlap in capability? Do you need dtv, dish or cable? Does the fire stik work on any tv? Do you need the boxes for all the others?

local channels? Sports? I am tired of the YO-YO game with dtv….looking for savings and info on these options….sounds like a good video idea?

    Tx for all your work,

    • Amazon doesn’t connect to Apple and Apple doesn’t connect to Amazon. You just need an internet connection and their device to access your apple library or Amazon account. If you want other things like Hulu or Netflix, you pay for those like normal through them, but can access them through either.
