Our family just got back from Disneyland and it reminded me how much fun a family vacation can be that’s filled with magical memories. We recently returned from Disney World and I highly recommend going after Thanksgiving but before the Christmas rush. The weather was perfect (70-80’s) and the crowds were good (usually no more than 20 min wait). If you’re looking to head to FL, I’d recommend it! 🙂

my kids would absolutely flip. one year we surprised our kids with a trip. they had no idea where we were going. we kept telling them the home depot. =-D . we paniced when we arrived at the hotel and there was a big mickey display. luckily we were able to avoid it. the next morning we asked the kids what they would like to do. we suggested looking for a castle (the hotel had pictures of different castles in it). my oldest argued with me that there were no castles around here. so we made a bet. if we could find a castle she had to do dishes for a month. she said fine, but it had to be a real castle with a princess in it. my husband was trying hard not to crack up laughing. i agreed. if i lost i had to clean her rabbit’s cage for a month. we got there and acted paniced when we were driving into the parking lot. we had no idea what we’d driven in to or where to go. kids were really worried. husband talked over the man so he couldn’t say welcome to disneyland.
we seriously got to the tram on the way into the park and as we pass a disneyland sign the kids looked the opposite way. we were laughing so hard. it took 3 times of the conductor saying “welcome to disneyland” before our kids realized where we were.
as we walked in i asked my daughter if she was ready to lose our bet and there was the castle. aw the look was priceless. she quickly jumped in that there had to be a princess. =-D she got to meet 4. and i win. (i did not make her do dishes for a month as it was not a fair bet but we sure had fun teasing her about it).
now every time daddy comes home from deployment they ask when we get to go again.
