It’s finally here!! The Great Car Seat Trade Up Event is going on at all Babies R Us locations!
Starting September 1st – September 30th, you can trade in any used car seat or travel system and receive a coupon for 25% off (or 30% off for “R” Us Credit Card users) a new one that fits your baby’s age and weight! Here are the details:
- There is NO LIMIT on how many trade in’s you can make
- You can not stack coupons, only one 25% off coupon will be honored per new item purchased.
- Only redeemable in stores
- 25% off can not be combined with any other offers
- 25% off can be used on any participating new baby gear item. (If you trade in a car seat you don’t have to use the coupon on a new car seat it can go toward any baby gear purchase.)
- The following brands ARE PARTICIPATING: Evenflo, Britax, Graco and Chicco
- Excludes the following: Maxi-Cosi, Peg Pérego, clearance and Red Hot Deal items. 30% Credit Card offer.
Plus in years past you’ve had to use your coupon the same day you traded your old car seat in so keep that in mind when you head over to Babies R Us.
If you don’t have old baby gear to trade in you can still score 15% off on ALL baby gear items. Simply print off your in-store coupon and take it with you to get the discount.
This is a great way to get rid of old baby gear that has expired or doesn’t meet current safety standards. You can’t sell expired car seats or unsafe baby gear so you might as well get something for them by trading them in at this event.

Do they care if you’re trading in an expired car seat?
Freebies 2 Deals
Nope, you can take expired car seats in to trade in and then they’ll discard them properly.

Awesome, thanks!

Do you know if the 15% off can be used as well as other coupons?
I registered there and am planning on using the 15% off something on my registry to purchase a car seat. Do you think I could use both to get 30% off? Probably not but worth a try.

Im not sure. Im guessing no. But you can always ask!

During past events we’ve traded in different baby gear items – a stroller for a high chair, for example. Are they doing that with this event or does this only apply to car seats and travel systems?
