*NEW* IMPORTANT Update:  Rocky Mountain Power has left a comment with the following information: “As of August 11, 2015, cash incentives are no longer available for mini fridges. Rocky Mountain Power customers can still earn cash back for all qualified full-size models (between 7.75 and 32 cubic feet).”  So I REALLY hope that all of you who did this deal when I posted it back on July 24th have submitted your rebate form.  I am not sure if they will still give cash back for Mini Fridge models that were purchased before August 11th but just haven’t submitted with the rebate form yet.  So you will need to contact their customer service about this if you purchased before August 11th and forgot to submit your rebate form before today.

**This offer is now DEAD and can no longer be used.

Quick Update:  In the terms and conditions, the rebate form does say “Incentive will not exceed purchase price.”  However, Utah is the only state that doesn’t say “Up to $100” on the Rocky Mountain Rebate Page.  It says “Get $100 Cash Back”.  Idaho and Wyoming both have “Up to”.. before both of their rebates.  And other Utah Rebates either have “Up To”… or just a flat rate.  So I am not sure if RMP will end up giving us $100-no matter what we paid.  Or if they will only rebate us with the purchase price.  Either way, we will get a FREE Mini Fridge (if it is under $100).  But we might still get a $100 Check–which could make some of the fridges a money-maker.  We will have to wait and see!

This is an offer that just about everyone here in Utah might want to grab.  Give it as a gift, take it to the office or keep it for a room in your own home!

Home Depot currently has a bunch of different Mini Fridges for under $100 and a few just over $100 over here.  And Rocky Mountain Power is offering a $100 Cash Rebate for purchasing a Qualifying Fridge–including Mini Fridges!

Here is what you will need to do:

IMPORTANT:  Please note that you DO have to be a Rocky Mountain Power Customer WITH a Rocky Mountain Power Account number to apply for your rebate.  If you do not, you will not be able to do this offer.

  1. Purchase one of these Mini Fridges. You will want to make sure that the model number you pick is on THIS LIST.  If not, it doesn’t qualify for the rebate. To double check, you can even click on the model that you want and at the top, it will say “Get Up to $100 in Rebates” right underneath the price.
  2. Check out from Home Depot and it will actually ship to you for Free!
  3. After you have finished your order online, wait until your order arrives to get the Serial Number.
  4. Then, Head over to Rocky Mountain Power and submit your online form!  (It’s much faster and will get you your cash faster too!) Or, you can opt to mail in the form over here.
  5. Fill out the rebate form and include everything it asks for–including information from the receipt of your Mini Fridge.

That’s it!!  Within a few weeks, you will get a check for $100 you can cash or deposit to your checking account.  And depending on the model you chose, you will either end up making money on this purchase or you will pay very little out of pocket!

free refrigerator for home depot

For Example:

  • Grab the IGLOO 1.7 cu ft Mini Refrigerator for $84- $89. (Comes in multiple color choices too.)
  • Shipping is completely free.  And Sales Tax ended up being $5.75 for me.
  • Grand total was $89.75!  That means after I submit and get the cash back from the rebate, I will have made $10.25!! SCORE!

Here are all of the different Mini Fridges available on Home Depot’s website.  The larger capacity fridges will cost more, but will still be worth it with this awesome rebate. I am seeing 3.0 cu ft mini fridges for as low as $109.  So only $9 plus tax after your rebate!

You might want to spread the word to your friends on this one!  Happy Shopping!

(Thanks to Alesha and Laura!!)

  1. For the mini fridge do you have to be a Rocky Mountain Power customer?

    Thanks 🙂

    • Yes, you do. I will bold that part in the post so people don’t miss it. Thanks. 🙂

  2. You have to have an account with Rocky Mountain power company. I don’t and found this out after I purchased the fridge!

    • Sorry Melissa, I thought that was clear in the post. I will update that part in bold so people don’t miss it.

    • So return it

  3. I read the terms and conditions and it says the rebate amount is not to exceed the purchase price, so no money to be made really.

    • So this is the strange part. Utah is the only state that doesn’t say “Up to $100”. It says $100. Idaho and Wyoming both have “Up to”.. before both of their rebates. And other Utah Rebates either have “Up To”… or just a flat rate. So I am not sure what they will end up doing. But I will update the post so everyone is on the same page. Thanks Nicole!

    • The Rocky Mountain website has a list of accepted appliances. It states $100 rebate, not price. It does not state “not to exceed”

  6. i bought an Igloo that should have had a rebate, but Igloo is not on the rebate choice list. Also, no serial number probably until pickup.
Hmmmm. You may go crazy with out concerns/questions today.

    Reply
    • Haha… it’s probably guaranteed! Igloo is on the actual list they have. So you might have to contact Rocky Mountain Power to see why it isn’t on their online form? And if we don’t have a serial number, we will have to wait to submit. So I can update that part of the post too. I haven’t even grabbed mine yet because I have been answering questions… so I didn’t get to that part of the form. 😉 Thanks!

  7. I just bought an Igloo mini-fridge and went to fill out the rebate but it won’t come up with Igloo as the manufacturer even though it is listed on the models for rebate. Do you think it will work if I do a mail-in rebate?

    Reply
    • Yes, a few people have had that same issue. It’s on this list: https://www.homeenergysavings.net/sites/default/files/ckfinder/files/ut-qualified-refrigerators.pdf So I know it qualifies. You can contact RMP to see if they can update the online form. Or, just do the mail-in-rebate after you get your serial number when your item arrives. 🙂

      Reply
    • At the very end of the list of manufacturers there’s an option that says “not on list”. That’s what I’m going to try since it’s on the list. There’s also a 1-800 number you can call.

  9. You actually don’t have to be with Rocky Mountain – I just did this for my parents who go through UAMPS (Payson, UT) and it brought up a different form for them when I clicked on “Check Rebate Availability” for their zip code

    Reply
    • Where did you click “Check Rebate Availability”? We don’t have Rocky Mtn either and I want to find out if I can still get the rebate.

      Reply
      • On my computer when I clicked meleas link it listed it under the purchase price of select fridges

  10. I just bought one of the refrigerators off the master list but then when I go fill out the rebate Igloo is not listed as on of the refrigerator manufacturers. Are they made by someone else? Anyone else have this problem?

  11. The rebate is good for UAMPS customers as well. Just click on the check rebate availability link and enter your zip code. I can get the $100 rebate through UAMPS and I’m in Springville.

    • Same for me; I’m in Lehi.

  13. On Rocky Mountain Powers website, it states that when receiving a rebate, you will not receive more than you paid. So If you purchased an $84 fridge, they will not reimburse you $100, only the $84 that you actually spent. Just FYI, still a great deal though!

  14. Thank you! We have Rocky Mtn. Power. I double checked the fridge I wanted was on the long list, and purchased it. I have wanted to get my husband a little fridge for his office for a long time! It will be a fun birthday surprise. Thanks for saving me $100!

  15. I bought a discounted gift card for home depot on raise.com (plus got $5 off because it’s a new account). So I paid $83, and I should get the $95 purchase price back at least. Free fridge and $12 moneymaker, score! Thanks for telling us about this cool freebie.

  16. I bought the cute red igloo fridge. The model # listed on the website is FR1151-RED. However, on the rebate list it has it listed as FR1151-B-RED. Does anyone know will that “B” make a difference on my rebate?? When I googled that model # with the B, it pulled up the exact fridge I was looking at……. Weird. Just hoping I actually am able to get my money back on it.
    Thanks for the help!

  17. I also got an Igloo and decided to give their CSR a call, Corey said Igloo is a valid one, and to enter on rebate form any random manufacturer, he also said serial number is helpful but not necessary so i opted to submit the application online with a copy of the email send by home depot…. Also for those who are not Rocky Mountain clients, you can still apply through UAMPS however, you would like to double check their partner list to make sure your city is a qualifying partner. My sister is in Bountiful, UT she does not have a RM account and is not eligible for UAMPS either… I hope this is helpful

  18. Also, that rebate list from home depot says it is upated on a monthly basis……… The date last updated was 6/5/15. Is there a more updated list???

  19. Hi Melea,
I am in Idaho and when I pulled up the rebate it says only $40 rebate for Refrigerators. Am I looking at the wrong rebate online?

    Reply
    • No, you are right. Idaho and Wyoming have different rebate amounts. Utah is the only one with a $100 Rebate.

      Reply
  20. Do you have to buy it from Home Depot for the rebate to work?

    Reply
    • Nope. Dont’ think so. Just as long as it is on their approved list.

  21. THANK YOU!!!

  22. I’m guessing that you don’t have to order just from Home Depot. I found the igloo 3 cu. ft. Eraser Board Mini Refrigerator in Black on walmart.com for the same $109 price and is available. So i’m going to give that a try as well.

    • and will it be a rebate of a check sent to me or to the account holder through their account? I live with my parents but would like to do this to surprise them with a mini fridge for their game room.

      • Pretty sure the check goes to the person who holds the account. But I would check with RMP support to see for sure. 🙂

  24. I just received my mini refrigerator and went to fill out the form with Rocky Mountain Power. I bought a Igloo FR3210 witch was on the list, but when I go to put in product information Rocky Mountain does not have a selection for Igloo. I tried to call and they are in some sort of training so unable to contact anyone right now. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Reply
    • Sorry it was a FR3201 its on the list

      • Monica, I just filled out the rebate form online. I called customer service regarding the “Igloo” manufacturer not being listed on their rebate form. The customer service agent relayed to me that this has been an issue & to choose any manufacturer listed (they go off of the model number & Serial #). So I chose Ikea & was able to complete the form.

        Hope this helps.

  25. The qualification for this incentive have changed:

As of August 11, 2015, cash incentives are no longer available for mini fridges. Rocky Mountain Power customers can still earn cash back for all qualified full-size models (between 7.75 and 32 cubic feet). Details at https://bit.ly/1eXUI3j

  26. Dang it! The one I ordered was backordered and I won’t even get it for two more days. I hope they’ll still take the rebate.

    Reply
    • I would call them and see if the August 11th date is for your order date or for the date you had to have the rebate in. Their customer service should be able to tell you.

  27. So……..is the deal still on or not? I’m confused.

    Reply
    • If you ordered the mini fridge and submitted your rebate before yesterday, then you should be good. If not, you cannot use this deal anymore or rebate anymore for a Free Mini Fridge. The rebate will only work on a full size fridge.

  28. I submitted my rebate on August 7th and was previously able to track the status, which showed pending. Now when I went to that same site and entered my information, it said they were unable to track my rebate at this time and to email their customer service. I hope they process the rebate since it was submitted before the August 11 change.
