UPDATE:  Disneyland has raised their ticket prices– as of Feb 22nd, 2015! What does that mean for our group trip??  It means that Get Away Today is awesome and giving all of us the lower ticket price!  You can’t get that price any other place or for any other Disneyland trip! Seriously, I love it when they hook us up!  We are running out of rooms. So if you do want to come on one of the trips, make sure you call and get it booked as soon as you can! You can pay for the vacation in monthly payments too.  (Just another reason why I love GetAwayToday)  :)

PLEASE, PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST THOROUGHLY.
All of your questions should be answered below.

If you have questions about a particular package, questions about prices for kids… anything…  please call GetAwayToday at 855-GET- AWAY.  They can answer all of your questions and tweak the packages below to fit your family perfectly!

I’m excited that we finally have this information for all of you.  Just so you all know, this year is a lot harder because it is Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Celebration.  That means that more people have already planned their Disneyland trips and the 3 Disney Hotels are already filling up their rooms for September and December!  So our discounted rates are a tiny bit higher than what they have been in previous years because of demand… and we have less rooms available to us at the Disney hotels because they are already starting to sell out.

When I asked you guys when you wanted to go, September for Halloweentime or December for Christmastime, the results were split right down the middle.  So I’ve been working with Get Away Today to find a way to possibly do both!!  So you can actually choose which discounted group trip you want to go on… you could even do both if you wanted. 😉

Here are all of the details:

  • OPTION #1 Dates: September 22nd- 26th SOLD OUT! (This should fall within one of the first Mickey’s Halloween Party dates!  YAY! And it is before everyone’s Fall Break, and before Gay Week at Disneyland. So it shouldn’t be busy! In my opinion, it is the perfect week to go!)
  • OPTION #2 Dates: December 8th-12th (This is during Christmastime at Disneyland and should be magical!  You could even give this as an early Christmas gift to your family.  Historically, this week is lower in park traffic.  On TouringPlans.com, the dates I’ve chosen are at a level 2 or 3 out of a 10. However, I’m sure we can expect Disneyland to be a little busier all year long, no matter when you travel this year because of the 60th Anniversary Celebration.)
  • There are a few different hotels to choose from depending on where you want to stay and how much you want to spend.  You will see details on that below.
  • Because we are doing two group trips this year, my family will only be going during one of our group dates ….Probably December because I’ve never been able to go during Christmastime.
  • If you can’t pay for your entire trip right now, don’t worry!  Get Away Today will let you make payments on your trip up until you go!  They usually charge $50 to do a Payment Plan.  But they have waived that fee for all of us.  So you can choose which package you want and make monthly payments for the next 9-11 months!  No Interest Either!

I’m going to try to make this the easiest as possible to read and separate the two different dates.  But it’s a lot of information.  So make sure you read each hotel and the options available.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————–

ALL packages below include the following (No matter which of the two dates you choose):

  • 4 nights hotel stay, 3-Day Park Hopper Tickets.
  • All Get Away Today Exclusives (ESPN Zone Discounts, $300 worth of coupons) Includes a BOGO ESPN Zone Game Card Discount. Plus, it includes a 25% off coupon for all ESPN Zone merchandise.
  • 2 Luggage Tags, 1 Oversized Sling Backpack, Lanyards, Vacation Photo Mousepad, 30 Day Countdown Chain and Frozen Stickers are included with each package for FREE.
  • And a FREE exclusive Freebies2Deals Payment Plan– if you choose to use it.

September 22nd- 26th, 4 Nights: SOLD OUT!

———————————————————————————————————————————–

December 8th-12th, 4 Nights:

Please note that Disneyland will no longer let us tweak arrival or departure dates with our group reservations.  If you want to stay at one of the three Disneyland Resorts, you will have to stay 4 nights.  (If you would like to stay longer, you can book additional nights outside of our group rate.  Just talk with Get Away Today about that when you book.)

However, if you stay at the Clarion or the Springhill Suites, you can tweak your trip in any way you need to… if you need to leave a day earlier, stay later, arrive a day earlier… I think you get what I mean.

Here are the Different Hotels you can choose from:

***Get Away Today has given Freebies2Deals Readers an exclusive on “Adults at Kid’s Prices” Disneyland Tickets during our dates in December!! (They aren’t hooking anyone else up with that ticket deal during the month of December.)   So that is a great discount of up to $11 off each ticket!

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel:  Way Too Expensive During These Dates… It wasn’t a big enough savings to include it in our Group Discount.

Benefits of Staying at a Disneyland Hotel:

  • You get early access to Disneyland every day of your vacation, as long as you have a valid park ticket and your room key. I can’t tell how big of a difference this makes! **This is the BEST way to get into Cars Land and ride all of the rides before everyone else gets in an hour later! We rode the brand new Cars ride 3 times and the other rides all before the park opened to the public!  ONLY people staying at one of Disney Resorts can get in that hour early each day.  So it makes a big difference!
  • For those with little ones who still need to take naps, I personally think a Disneyland Hotel really helps out!  You are only steps away from your actual hotel room.  You can leave mid-day when the park starts to get crowded and head back to the hotel for a nap and some time at the pool.  Then you can head back early evening when people are starting to leave for the day!
  • At the Disneyland Hotel, you can choose to use the Monorail to enter the park each morning, or go through the special/private entrance through the Grand Californian Hotel.  Both can help you get into the park faster!  (You can use either of these options.. no matter which of the 3 Resorts you are staying at.)
  • The nighttime show and firework music is piped in through your TV.  So if you have to head back to the Hotel early, you can still get some of the magic!
  • Disney Princesses tell bedtime stories to your kids on a special Disneyland Hotel TV channel.
  • You can schedule a wake-up call from Mickey Mouse each morning.  Have each of your kids answer the phone in the morning and get a fun surprise!!

**I know that staying at one of the Disney Hotels is a pricier option.  Believe me!! But if you can make it work, I would really recommend that you do it–at least once!  The convenience and the extras they throw in to make your vacation more enjoyable is really worth it. Plus you get SO much more time in the park before it gets crazy! Even if it is something your family only gets to do once, this would be a great time to do it with the discount and FREE $50 Disney Gift Card!

Mickey’s Halloween Party Tickets Info:

If you are going during our September dates, you will want to look into going to the Mickey’s Halloween Party!  Prices are usually around $65  per person. So keep that budgeted and set away.  Then when Disney releases them, you can grab yours before they sell out!

With the Mickey’s Halloween Party Ticket, they will let you into the park around 5:00pm and kick everyone else out around 6:00pm.  In past years, we have had the entire park to ourselves until Midnight- although we got all of the rides done WAY before that.  And, they have fun candy and treat stations all along the park.  When I say we had bags and bags of candy… we really did!

Everyone in your family can come dressed up in their Halloween costumes (optional of course) and they even give you Trick or Treat bags!  It’s one of the most fun things I have ever done at Disney.

Usually tickets for the Mickey’s Halloween Party go on sale in Mid-July.  So we will know before then of how to purchase the tickets to the party.  And I will let you know… 🙂

Transportation Info:

If you aren’t staying at one of the Disney Properties, or at a resort within walking distance, you will want to get the ART Bus Tickets.  This is the BEST way to get to your hotel and to Disney each day.  You won’t have to pay a parking fee at your hotel and the shuttle comes every 20-30 minutes. And if you stay at the Springhill Suites (mentioned above), they stop right in front of the hotel.  Usually, it is $25 for an Adult 5-Day Unlimited Ride Pass.  But GetAwayToday will give it to us for $15!  And kids ages 3-9 ride FREE with GetAwayToday! (Reg $10 for a 5-day pass)  So, it is worth it… and a TON cheaper than a Car Rental.

On that same note, ask GetAwayToday about Airport Transfers on the Disneyland Express or another shuttle pickup service from the Airport– if you are flying.  Cost depends on which airport you fly to.  But, in my experience it has been cheaper to do that than pay for a car rental during the entire stay of your trip.

So obviously, there are a lot of routes that you can go.  But I am really hoping that one of these packages will work for your family so you can come with me and my family to Disneyland!!

IMPORTANT*** I do want to give you guys a heads up though… there are only so many hotel rooms at each resort we have negotiated these special deals for.  So please don’t wait very long to book in case the hotel you want sells out of rooms. We’ve sold out the last two years we have done this! Remember, the payment plan that Get Away Today provides does not charge interest or anything… and that $50 fee is waived for us.

If you want to book any of these packages, you will have to book directly through Get Away Today Groups  at 855-GET-AWAY. Make sure you call and tell them you are calling about the Freebies2Deals Special Vacation Package to Disneyland!  That way, you will get quoted the right amount.  If you need to make any changes to the packages above, you can also talk to them and work that all out.  They are super nice and helpful!

Screen Shot 2015-01-27 at 9.10.42 AM

If you are going to do the Payment Plan and pay on it over the next 9-11 months, all packages will require a minimum down payment of $125. $50 of that deposit is non-refundable if you need to make changes.

If you need to make changes, have questions about any of the packages or people coming with you or just need to tweak a package, please call GetAwayToday at 855-GET-AWAY.  They can answer all of your questions and make it the perfect fit for you!

But the most important part is that I want all of you to come and experience Disneyland with me!!  Those of you who do come, I will email you with tips before the trip to make sure you get the most out of your vacation, your dollars, and your time! :)

Still not sure if you should come with us on our Group Trip to Disneyland??  Here is a video I put together with a bunch of Freebies2Deals readers sharing their opinion of Get Away Today, the booking process, how great their trip was and more!
(If you can’t see the video above, you can watch it here.)

  1. If this helps anyone (and I don’t mean to sound negative) but we went for christmas during the same time frame listed in this post and it was so crowded! We even went Mon/Tues/Wed hoping to avoid the weekend crowds. I can’t imagine what it would have been like over the weekend! While it was fun to visit during the holiday becuase of all the fun decor, we swore we would never come back again during December. I love Disneyland! We’ve been 9 times in the last 12 years and experienced all different times of the year, and we’ve learned what times of the year to go to make it truly magical. Fighting crowds and long lines is not our idea of magical. HOpe this helps someone who might be debating.

  2. What about September? And is it really worth the extra to stay at Disneyland hotels?

    Reply
    • Yes! It’s totally worth it to stay at a Disneyland hotel. I will never stay anywhere else. Although i would not pay to stay at the grand Californian again, i dont the think it’s worth the price. But the Disneyland hotel and paradise pier are wonderful. The extras are great plus it adds to the magic 🙂

    • Ha! Guess it’s a matter of opinion. While we loved our trip staying in a Disney hotel, we actually much preferred the hotels across the street from Disney (we’ve stayed in several: Fairfield Inn, Carousel, and two others I can’t think of right now). And extra added bonus that it was about half the cost.

  3. Heather, I would have to disagree with you. I have been to Disneyland many different times throughout the year, and I didn’t think it was that bad during those dates. The later you go into December, the worse it gets, but at the beginning, it really isn’t too bad. I would go during those dates again in a heart beat!

  4. Thank you so much for this post!! My family has been considering Disneyland and I’ve been putting it off, telling them to wait until we hear from you! So, we are planning to go, just not sure yet which dates/hotels we’ll go for. So excited!! 🙂 I’d love toddler tips. Our daughter will be 2 1/2.

    • We went in Oct 2014 with our 5 and 2.5 yr old girls and my younger one was SO FUN! She was so good. I was really nervous. Take a stroller, treats, refillable water bottle (the quick service locations will give you a cup of water for free) , and don’t rush through the park. Both parks are so big, you are bound to miss something. It will be AWESOME!!!

  5. How does it work if you have 4 kids & 2 adults? All of the packages say max 5 people. Also, do most people fly or drive?
    Thanks!

    • I was wondering that also. I don’t recall if anyone’s ever mentioned how they arrived at Disneyland. For those of us from other states, this would be very helpful information.

    • Hey Lyndse and Crisha,

If you want to stay together, the only room type that allows up to 6 guests is the room with two queen beds and a sofa bed at the Springhill Suites. If you want to do two separate rooms, you can do that and you’d just pay the three person price twice. 🙂 Feel free to call our agents at 855-GET-AWAY for personalized assistance. They’d love to help you!

          • Hey Girls,

Flights are separate. We have people coming from all different states. So trying to coordinate flight deals for everyone is a nightmare. But I will post any great flight deals I see, if that is how your family wants to get there. So keep watching Freebies2Deals over the next few months. I know a lot of families who live closer to California drive–but I think it all depends on how many people you have to purchase a flight for. 🙂

    • We live in Layton and have always driven. Honestly by the time you get to the airport with four kids…we’v always thought it was worth it to drive and loved the road trip. Then you can take a trip to the beach if you want! We stay (with our family of 6) at the Camelot Inn and Suites. It’s right across the street and it’s two bedrooms so the kids love having their own room.

  6. In a previous Disneyland post you mentioned a rating about how busy Disneyland would be. How do you find those ratings or find out which weeks/days are less crowded throughout the year (apart from just avoiding summer and holidays?) Thanks!

    Reply
    • TouringPlans.com. I think a membership is like $12 a year?? But I have one and both of the weeks I chose for these deals are rating 2-3 out of 10 as far as being busy. It was one of my deciding factors. 🙂

    • Hey Angie,
That will seriously be the best birthday for her! We put together a compilation of all the ways to celebrate including free birthday meals on our blog. I hope it helps: https://www.getawaytoday.com/blogs/2014-09-24/Ways-to-Celebrate-at-the-Disneyland-Resort

    • You can go to the Disney website and will list a few options. You can go to any one of the stores and you can get a birthday button for her. I am an adult and did that. It was so fun. The cast members and other guests would wish you happy birthday. It was one of the things that made the trip fun.

    • I definitely do not think you are nuts. I’ve taken a 4 month old and a 9 month old before. They can ride just about every ride on your lap—other than the big ones like Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain and such. But they can do the Fantasy Land rides and even Pirates of the Carribean. So you would be surprised how much you can do with them. (And you can do the Baby Swap on the bigger rides so everyone can ride the rides and take turns having someone watch the baby)

      Reply
      • The baby swap idea is brilliant! We have used it when we went and it’s SO nice. That way everyone gets to experience the ride without waiting twice in line.

        Reply
    • We’ve also taken a baby, several times. I never want my older kids to miss the “magic age” which it sounds like you’re older one will be, just because we have a baby. I’m not usually a paranoid mom, but I wouldn’t book right now until the measles thing is over with.

Just to clarify, families who book after February don’t qualify right!?

  12. I booked the Disneyworld trip that is in February, I have been a little disappointed in Getawaytoday. Most of my frustration is pertaining to the magic bands and how Getawaytoday has offered no information about them. For instance since this is a first visit to Disneyworld for myself I had no idea that fast passes could be booked 60 days prior to our trip. This would be helpful to know in order to book some of the fast passes that I’m sure get taken quickly. Which they have and are now gone. Probably wouldn’t book through them again.

    Reply
    • Hey Lindsay, Did you not get my email I sent out?? I emailed everyone who booked the Disney World Trip the day before Christmas to let them know to get ready to book their fast passes on Dec 26th. I’m so sorry you didn’t get that. I bet it might have gone to spam??

      Reply
    • Hi Lindsay,

We are so sorry to hear that. We also sent out an email 60 days out letting everyone know that they could begin booking Fastpasses and to watch for their packages. We will be sending an email this week with instructions on how to set up your Magic Express shuttle reservations if you are staying on property as well. Please check your spam folder and make sure we are added to your safe sender list. We want to be sure your vacation goes as smoothly as possible. • The Mickey’s Halloween Party is a separate ticket that usually costs around $65-$70 each. It only gets you in one day from about 4pm till Midnight… but only people who have that special ticket can get into the park. They have trick or treat stations, special parades, special fireworks show and your kids can dress up in costume.

I’m particularly interested in disneyland hotel vs paradise pier, as the Grand Californian is the most expensive. What does one have that the other doesn’t…Why would you choose one over the other…Thanks!

  21. Do any of the Disney hotels have fridges in their rooms? My son has food allergies so navigating breakfasts for him (since the Disney hotels don’t have a free breakfast) can be tricky. I know Disney themselves (restaurants, food stands, etc) are AWESOME about handling food allergies but am wondering if we could bring special things for Rowan that require refrigeration (soy milk, etc) and keep them in our room.

    • I know the Grand California does… I have stayed there before. It’s hidden in the TV stand. Not sure about the other two… maybe Get Away Today knows??

All of the Disneyland properties do have fridges in the rooms for you! 🙂 Like you said, it is super convenient to be able to have your own breakfast right in your room, especially with food allergies!

  22. hi so I was so excited waiting to here the info on this trip. But I have to say I am disappointed. I have a large family (8 people). There are no discounts for our family size this trip would only save my family $50. Was hoping for a little more savings than that. I love get away today I have used them for years. Maybe that means I was getting the best deals already. I would love to see more discounts for large family’s. We went last May for $1000 less.

      • I found the hotel that I wanted to stay at and I checked it every week for the whole year( it took a while but it was worth it ) I stayed at the stay bridge suits in the 2 bed suit with 8 people bought the city pass for 6 people in my family and the premium and reg charter dinning it was $2800.00. I got it threw getaway today. They where shocked to. But if you are open to more dates you can get better deals.

    • Hey Denise, I totally hear ya! Halloweentime and Christmastime are typically more expensive because they are popular times to go. Out of those seasonal time frames, I picked the cheapest weeks to go but still get in on the seasonal decor, rides and characters. (Not to mention it is the 60th Anniversary this year.. and prices are already higher….)

If people want to go in Jan/Feb, that is one of the cheapest times of the whole year. However, sometimes rides might be getting refurbished. And off-weeks where kids are still in school and not during a Holiday timeframe are usually cheaper too. Maybe one year we can do the cheapest Disneyland Trip Possible?? That might be a really good idea for all of the people who have wanted to go—but don’t care to go during the Holiday Celebrations. Thanks for the idea!!

If you guys want to come during one of those weeks with us, call up Get Away Today and see if they can give you an awesome rate at the Staybridge or another Suite property that sleeps 8!

      • I LOVE the “cheapest trip possible” idea! I was looking into going with my family of 4 this coming Monday and Tuesday, and it would’ve only cost us $810 for a one night stay and 2-day, 1 park per day tickets. It would be awesome if you could work a similar deal but maybe have an extra night in a hotel for the same price. Also, it would be nice to see more deals for the hotels right by the crosswalk to the entrance. I’m not a fan of the ART with kids and strollers.

  23. What if you have a family bigger than 5???? 7 people total…1 baby, 1 toddler, 3 children, 2 adults

    • Hi Shan,

We would recommend staying at the Springhill Suites Maingate in the 2 Queen Suite there. Their max occupancy is 6, but they will allow 7 with a baby. In the room there are 2 queens and a sofa bed. You are more than welcome to bring a crib or some sort of sleeping arrangements for your baby if you would like – the rooms are plenty big to accommodate that. 🙂

        • Hey Kayla,

As for our payment plan, you can pay however much you want, whenever you want – just as long as it is paid off by the due date (dependent on which dates you are traveling) you are all set! 🙂

For rescheduling or canceling, we do offer our Peace of Mind Plan. This is $60 per room and protects you from any additional fees for making changes or canceling. The only thing you would ever have to pay would be a difference in hotel price when changing dates. But if it was less – we would give you that refund.

As Melea said, if you do have any questions or need anything at all give our agents a call at 855-GET-AWAY and they would be happy to help! 🙂

  25. Hi Melea and Getaway Today!

My husband, myself and our will be 3 year old are highly considering going on the September trip and I’m really wanting to stay in a Disney property hotel! Can you please tell me which hotel has better pools for a 3 year old? She is a daring 3 year old and enjoys water slides (sometimes on my lap/sometimes by herself) at her young age… We realize that she might get overwhelmed being at Disneyland all day every day of those 3 days so we would like to have the option to take her back to the hotel and keep her entertained at the hotel pool… Also, which hotel has a better room setup for a family of 3? We’re wanting a King size bed for the two of us and a pullout sleeper sofa or even a rollaway bed for her… From what I could tell online, Grand Californian would definitely be able to accommodate that but it wasn’t clear as to whether the Disneyland hotel could… Also, one more annoying question but I feel like it is important after being exhausted from a long day walking around the parks… Which hotel has the most comfortable beds? LOL. Your input would be greatly appreciated!!! Also, Melea… Right now Jet Blue’s airfare into Long Beach from SLC is $93 per person each way… This seems like a fairly reasonable price to me seeing how last year I paid $110 per person each way… We’re not willing to fly into any other airport besides Long Beach… Should I book the plane tix now or do you see them get cheaper than that price?

Thanks guys! Can’t wait to see what tips you pull out for me! 🙂

    • Hey Leslie, I’m sure Get Away Today can give you more info. But here is what I know.

I’ve only stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and Grand California. The big slide at Grand California you cannot lap ride. So she would have to go down by herself and parents can’t stay to catch them. There is a smaller slide on the other side of the pool for toddlers that my kids have liked.

The Disneyland Hotel slides are kinda the same way. Both have fun pool set ups. I dont know anything about Paradise Pier. I haven’t stayed there yet.

I’ve never thought anything about the beds. So that must mean they were both comfortable! lol

I won’t tell you what to do airfare wise, because flights are unpredictable. I can tell you that if it was me, I would wait and see what else pops up. We have awhile before the trip. 🙂

    • Hey Leslie,

All three of the Disney hotels have great pools with water slides. Out of the three hotels, the Disneyland Hotel has the Monorail Slide and tends to be the most popular pool area. The Paradise Pier has the smallest pool and does not allow lap riding on their water slide, but it’s still tons of fun. Most of the rooms at all three hotels will have two queen beds. There are a VERY limited amount rooms with one king bed, so it is unlikely that you would get one, although we’d be happy to request it for you. And the beds are all very comfortable. 🙂 Our agents would love to help you if you have any other questions at 855-GET-AWAY.

But since you have done this before I was wondering if you can help me out. We still need to purchase our Halloween night tickets(Mickey’s Halloween Party tickets). I am wondering if you know when these tickets will go on sale? Where can I go to purchase them? I don’t want to miss out!

    Thanks so much!

We’re planning on totally surprising them with it, like in the car on the way there, and I’m so excited I don’t know if I can keep this secret!!!! Haha! Thanks so much for putting everything together! Can’t wait to snag our tickets to Mickey’s Halloween party asap. Is there somewhere I can find out when exactly to get them so we’re guaranteed having them the dates we’re there? Thanks again so much!

  28. I’m kind of confused as to why this is a good deal. After looking at prices at the disney hotels’ website for the September dates, Disneyland paradise pier is $276/night or $1104 for the four nights. Disney’s California grande hotel is $452/night or $1812. I know Costco sells 4 day hopper tickets for $209 (after $50 Costco gift card redeemed) . So even after adding in tax you get way lower prices than yours. I’m just confused. Can someone tell me why this is a good deal?

    Reply
    • Hi Kara,
Disney does change their prices from time to time based on availability, cancellations, etc., however the prices above do not include the taxes. For example, when you add tax, the Grand becomes over $2,100 and does not include any tickets. Our package price including two 3-day tickets is $2,437 and includes a $50 gift card. The same exact package on Disneyland.com without the gift card is $2,679. As far as we know, the $259 4-day Park Hopper with a $50 Costco Gift Card was last offered in 2010 and Costco has stopped selling Disneyland tickets separately for the last couple of years. They do offer packages, which we always guarantee to beat. 🙂 We also include a bunch of freebies that are exclusive to Get Away Today. We’d love to have you come along on our group trip!

    • I’m wondering the same thing Kara. Even with the tax included in the Paradise Pier for those same nights, the total comes to $1291.68. If you buy 2 adult and 3 kid park hopper tickets on GetAwayToday’s website, the total is $1270. That’s a total of $2,561.68. The “deal” price for a family of 5 is $2668. Even without the Costco tickets you’re talking about (which my Costco doesn’t sell) it’s still $106.32 cheaper than the “deal” they’re giving us for this trip. Maybe we are missing something. They do give a $50 gift card if you do this deal, but that doesn’t make up for the difference. You can even get the 5-day park hopper on GetAwayToday for 2 adults and 3 kids for $1395 right now, which would bring the total to $2686.68. That’s only $18.68 more than the deal they’re giving and you get 2 extra days in the park. This really surprises me because I’ve NEVER been able to find cheaper prices than GetAwayToday when we go to Disneyland.

I wanted to let you know that when Get Away Today sent me the deal prices for our group trip, I went through every single one to make sure it was the lowest price offered–anywhere. It literally took me 6 hours to put this post together!!

With that said, Disney can definitely change prices at any time. But because Get Away Today is so great, I have been working with them since you guys commented and went back to re-price things out and the prices had dropped. So we are working on adjusting the packages so you guys are getting the best deal from anywhere! Thanks for letting me know that prices had changed. I want to make sure we all get the lowest possible price on this trip- just like we have in past years. So stay tuned. I am hoping we have updated pricing in a day or so. Thanks! 🙂

  31. Has anyone stayed at the Clarion Hotel before? If so what was your experience like? How clean are the rooms and is it kind of a run down low end hotel?

    Reply
    • Hi Emily, the Clarion is an older hotel and we have guests who absolutely love it, and guests who are disappointed with it. It is one of our most popular choices because it is such a low price and our guests get the exclusive free hot breakfast and parking. A lot of your experience there will depend on the types of hotels that you normally choose to stay at and your expectations. We think the staff at Clarion does a great job to make everyone’s stay as comfortable as possible. If you have any other questions, our agents would love to go over hotel details with you at 855-GET-AWAY. 🙂

  36. Hi! Is it too late to book the September trip? I saw from past years that you crossed out hotels that were already booked.. does this mean they are all still open?

Also, are both parks shut for the Halloween party or just Magic Kingdom? We would prefer to save money and not attend the party, but if both parks are closed that would mean that we would miss out on an entire night of our trip. Just wondering how that works!

    Thanks 🙂 Alanna

  42. Melea,
My husband and I booked the September trip about a month ago, but changed the package to a 2 Day Park Hopper ticket and one day at Universal. It is just the two of us. I was looking at the Mickey Halloween Party tickets today and explaining the extra cost to my husband, and he wanted to know how much our park tickets were already. I wasn’t sure so I called Get Away Today and they said our tickets are $223 each. That is the same price that they are on their website, so I don’t understand why we didn’t save any money by booking through your trip? Is it because we only got a 2 day pass instead of 3? I was really disappointed by that and my husband was upset that we didn’t really save anything. I’ve been telling him that we got Adult passes at Kid prices before the prices go raised, and that we got the best deal available. I really believed we did. We are two adults and would like a day at Universal, instead of 3 days at Disneyland. If you could work it out so that in the future the 2 Day pass is available at a discount, that would be great. Also when I booked I asked them several times if we were still getting Freebies2Deals prices, even though we changed our package and they said yes, so I feel like they misled me. If you have any answers or can explain something that I missed, that would be great. Thanks.

  43. One more question-I was looking at dates for Halloween Party tickets and the first date was Friday September 25. So do I understand correctly-that we could go to Disneyland Wed and Thurs (23 and 24) and stay the whole day, and Disneyland would still be decorated for Halloween, etc. Then we could go to Universal on Friday and not have to buy a ticket to the Halloween party? I think it would be fun but we don’t want this trip to turn into a really expensive one with all the extra stuff. Thanks for your help!

    Reply
  44. Hi Jill,

We’ve been working with Melea, because of course we want to make sure you get the best deal and know exactly what you are getting. You are right that our 2-day tickets are just our regular discounted price, which is a small savings off of the gate price. The Adults at Kids’ Prices for the F2D group trip are only available on 3-day and longer tickets. When our agent said that you are getting the Freebies2Deals pricing, they were referring specifically to your hotel portion, which is a killer deal. The Clarion is one of our best values at Get Away Today because you get an exclusive free breakfast per person ($15 per day value) and free parking (another $14 per day value). The Freebies2Deals rate was about $100 less than our discounted Clarion rate, and comes with all of the extras. Plus, the F2D group got a free layaway plan, which is worth $50. So, even without the F2D group tickets, you’re saving about an extra $150 on your package.

As far as Halloween Time goes, both parks will be celebrating Halloween Time and will be decorated for both the Diamond Celebration and Halloween during regular park hours. Mickey’s Halloween Party is a private event, and does cost extra. You could definitely go to Universal Studios on Friday and forgo Mickey’s Halloween Party altogether and still celebrate Halloween Time at Disneyland on Wednesday and Thursday. We hope that you have an awesome time and would be happy to answer any other questions or concerns you may have. September is a fantastic time to go and we’re sure you’ll have an amazing time with or without Mickey’s Halloween Party. 🙂
