Kmart is offering FREE credit monitoring for select customers involved in their recent credit breach. Eligible customers are those who shopped in-store September 1 and October 9, 2014.
“Based on the forensic investigation to date, no personal information, no debit card PIN numbers, no email addresses and no social security numbers were obtained by those criminally responsible. There is also no evidence that kmart.com customers were impacted.”

Even if no personal information was obtained these are important points to remember when a credit breach has occured:
**Don’t ever give your financial information in an email.
**Don’t ever sign into your financial account by clicking through an email first.
**Don’t give other personal information like SS#’s, Driver’s License or other information through email.
