It’s that time of the year to get rid of stuff you don’t want/need, to clean up your Christmas decorations and organize your home. January always makes me want to start fresh.

One thing to remember to do is to go through and find all of the items you can donate to charities or other organizations who need them.  We always go through old toys to donate them.  And, it helps my kids learn how to serve and how important it is to give to others. My 4-year-old daughter is just beginning to understand that there are kids who don’t have toys.  And now she is more than willing to give her unused toys- even some of her favorite toys.

With all of the toys your kids just got for Christmas, chances are there are a few toys that they have grown out of you can donate, right??  Plus, it will feel good to get the clutter out of your home. 🙂

**If you need an incentive, if you donate in-kind items to a 501c Charity Organization, you can use that as write offs for your taxes too!

Do you have favorite places to donate your items??

  1. I have 3 huge boxes of stuff that I am donating to my kids school rummage sale they are having at the end of January! But I usually donate to Good Will.

  2. I usually donate to the DI or you can always find those clothes bins in grocery store parking lots. Those are super easy.
