I have had a lot of you have questions about how the Lightning Deals on Amazon work. So if you are confused, or have questions, you will want to read this little Lightning Deals Information Page.
It will give you the tips you need to snag the deals you want when they drop to those super low prices!
Don’t forget to have these Lightning Deals Pages Saved to Favorites or Bookmarked and check throughout the day:
- Black Friday in Electronics
- Black Friday in Video Games
- Black Friday in Toys and Games
(This is one to watch!!!)
- Black Friday in Kitchen and Home
Lightning Deals start every hour or every two hours… depending on the category. Think of them as mini daily deals. They have an allotted number to sell and the first people to add them to their cart and then checkout within 15 minutes will get them. If someone adds it to their cart and then doesn’t check out within 15 minutes, anyone who requested to be on the waitlist will get a message from Amazon letting them know they can claim it instead. **So, if you don’t get it, get on the waitlist, you still could!
On top of these great deals, you can get FREE Shipping with Amazon Prime. You can get Amazon Prime, by signing up for the Free 30-Day Trial of the Amazon Mom Program, or Amazon Student Program. Or, just pad your order to hit $35 and it will ship free too!

Are lightning deals added during the day? If I check in the morning and don’t see anything I’m looking for in the previews they give, do I need to keep checking during the day to see if new deals are added?

I can’t figure out how to get the lightening deals. I watch the timer count down and then BAM, the item is sold out immediately. It’s like they only had one to sell or something. I gave up after that happening twice today.

i was just going to ask the same thing. Do you need to put the item in your cart and then see the price change? I waited for the countdown and then I never saw the sale price come up. When I tried to refresh it was already sold out and the wait list full.

I love amazon lightening deals, they have such great prices. I got so much Christmas shopping done that way last year. You really have to scan ahead at all of the deals for the day. That way if you see anything you want you can jump on the deal as soon as it goes live.

Amazon lightning deals are awesome! It’s nice to get a great deal without having to leave the house. And at Christmas time it’s nice not to have to fight off the crowds. You do have to be quick on the really popular ones though cause they can sell out FAST! 🙂

Thanks. I like to keep a few items in my cart, saved for later, that I need so when a lightning deal pops up I want, I can quickly move the saved items to the cart to make my total 35$ to qualify for free shipping.
With Christmas coming up one I’ve found helpful is scotch tape. Cheap if you are only a few dollars off from the free shipping and it’s something I always need. Little things like that are great ways to pad your order to ship for free.
