I just ordered the artisan 5 qt. from Kohls. After Kohl’s cash and rebate it will only be $127. I bought the Pro 600 last year from Amazon at a lower price than the Kohls deal today, and it broke after only 18 months. I make a lot of bread and that is why I wanted a more powerful motor and bigger bowl. But it didn’t last. The reviews aren’t very good for the Pro 600, so that is why I bought the Artisan. The reviews are great on Kohl’s (5 stars with 672 reviews), and on other sites too. Hoping for better luck with this one. Hopefully this will help some of you if trying to decide between models.

Do these mixers always go on sale during Black Friday sales? I really want to get one but feel that it might not be the best time for us since we’re building a house and we’re trying to scale back on what we buy. It’s been killing me all week and I’ve been going back and forth about getting one. I don’t bake a ton but I’d like to so right now I just don’t know if it makes sense to buy one. Maybe I don’t really understand all the wonderful things the mixer can do with the basic attachments. Can you wonderful people tell me what you use your mixer for so I can get a better idea if I want to pull the trigger on this or not?
