Nice! It looks like Costco is now also waving the membership fee for military members and is inviting any retired or active military to shop at any participating Costco location while the Commissaries are closed during the government shutdown.
Find a Costco near you and take advantage of this offer if you are an active duty military member, retiree, or any one else with commissary privileges. You will want to make sure to have your military ID with you when you go. As they will ask for that when they sign you up.
Here is Costco’s official statement: “COSTCO welcomes military ID card holders. Due to the government shutdown and closing of the commissaries, COSTCO will allow military ID card holders to shop at their stores — even if they are not members already.”
**Please note: This may not be available at all Costco locations. Make sure to call ahead before you go to make sure your location is participating.

Let them know that they can use cash or debit card only to make purchases and they do not need to sign up, simply show your card at the door and at the register! (I have a family member who works at Costco, who is very familiar with this temporary policy!)

Sams Club is also doing this!!

Just a little correction, they are not “waving the membership fee” they are simply allowing you to shop there without a membership card for a short time. That goes for SAM’s Club and Costco.
