The great thing about these Restaurant.com certificates is that once you pay, they are available to use immediately. So if you have a crazy night tonight and just want to head out to eat, make sure to check out what’s available in your area! These certificates really are such an awesome way to save money when you go out.

**If you haven’t purchased a Restaurant.com Gift Certificate before, this is how it works. Each restaurant will have different fine print. Some will have a minimum purchase required or a specific day that you can eat.

If the fine print says that you have to spend at least $25 in order to use your Restaurant.com Gift Certificate, think if you would have already spent that amount normally on the people who are eating. If you do, then it is a great buy. You can purchase your discounted Gift Certificate, and not worry about meeting the minimum requirements, because you know you already will.

(Thanks Katherine!)

  1. I want to warn your readers that the last time I bought a cert. for them (it was a high value one too!), I got an e-mail a few months later saying “sorry, that restaurant doesn’t take our certs. anymore, choose another.” Well, everything else in my area is either bad, or using a $50 cert. there wouldn’t make sense. So buyer beware, this company uses bait and switch.

  2. Oh, and I also wrote them two e-mail asking for a refund….which due to their fine print they do not give. So, yeah, if you get one use it fast!

  3. Great deal, but do you know if you can buy more than one $25 certificate and get the discount?

  4. We were given a Restaurant.com gift certificate and for us it is a piece of junk. There are very few restaurants that participate. Also, a $25 card does not give you $25 of food for free. For most of the restaurants you can print off a $10 or $15 voucher, and to use the voucher you have to spend at least $20 or something. You can only use one voucher per visit. Some of the more expensive restaurants have more expensive vouchers, but you still have to spend up to double the worth of the voucher to redeem it. Before you buy these, take a look at their restaurant list and make sure you’ll use it. Just remember they are a discount, not actual gift cards.
