Did you know that Home Depot does Kids Crafts? On the first Saturday of every month from 9am-12pm, Home Depot offers free classes for kids ages 5-12yrs old. They teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment.

April’s craft will be a bird house! And even better, it’s free and your child gets to keep their craft! So head over to Home Depot’s site and register for this next months craft. Then be sure to mark your calendar for April 6th so you don’t forget!

  1. The Riverdale Home Depot just started doing it on the first and third Saturday. They just repeat the same project so if one date doesn’t work for you the other might. Also, we take our 6 and 3 year old and they have no problem with our 3 year old coming and she loves it. Lastly, April’s project is actually not a bird house but a bird feeder. Only slightly different but just thought I’d clarify.

Oh and keep in mind that the paint is NOT washable so you may want to consider that when picking your outfit or just be extra careful! It is a lot of fun!

    • Are these really crowded? I have never dared to go because my husband works on Saturdays and there is only so much of me to go around to help them with the projects but I know that my kids would LOVE it! I am thinking about attempting it…we are always looking for things to do to keep us busy on Saturdays.

      • You should definitely go!! I have taken my 3 kids by myself, and was nervous the first time. But, even if they are crowded (sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t, I suggest not getting there right at 9, wait until 9:30 or so), there is NO rush, so you can totally take your time!

  2. My kids love this. We go to the one in layton. They don’t offer paint but still fun and if we want it painted we finish it at home. Shauna Yes its crowded but I think you can go sign up, get the craft and if its too busy just take it home to do. 🙂

    • Also Lowes does one but you have to register a month or two in advance online. They only have a certain amount at each Lowes. But if you do get a spot it is NOT crowded at all, you have a time slot.
      just search kids wood projects.
