By the way, we haven’t seen this movie yet. Is it too scary for a 3 year old???
(Thanks Couponing to Disney)

My daughter turned 3 yesterday so we took her this weekend, as well as her 5 year old sister. Some parts are a little scary, but more just like something jumps out, not like she was too scared to watch. The whole family loved it!

My 10-year old son went with his friend and his parents this past weekend. He had a hard time falling asleep and woke up with nightmares. So…maybe read some reviews before you go (disclaimer: he has a very active imagination). Good Luck! My friend went with her husband and loved it! She said it had some adult humor similar to Shrek that was really funny.

My 9-yr-old went with her friend and 11-yr-old sister. They were all scared. My daughter closed her eyes through 90% of the movie… just a heads-up 🙂

My husband and I saw it this weekend. I think it is too scary for little ones. I wouldn’t take my 3 and 5 year olds. There was a 2 or 3 year old sitting in front of us and they seemed to do ok, but I would worry about nightmares.

Yeah, I think it’s too scary for a 3 year old. There was a little girl about 3 or 4 sitting next to me, and she kept going to her mom to sit on her lap- facing away from the screen. Her sister (maybe 8 or 9?) jumped a few times, but seemed to like it overall. But I wouldn’t take my 5 or 3 year old. Even if they weren’t scared, I don’t know if they would understand whats happening most of the time.

I haven’t seen it yet so I can’t help you there, but if you participate in plink, remember that regal cinemas are on plink so might as well get plink points if you are going to a regal theater…those gift cards add up fast with plink

OMgosh! Thank you so much! I’ve been wanting to take my children to see this. So glad to see everyone saying about how scary it might be for kids. Gave me pause until I remembered that neither my 8 or 11 year old was scared with Harry Potter. I think they’ll be fine. Thanks again!

Here’s a great site that I use for evaluating movies for my little guys. It tells you what the questionable events are without giving away the movie. Here’s a link directly to the Oz movie: https://www.kids-in-mind.com/o/ozthegreatandpowerful.htm Good luck.

Oz the great powerful was a great movie
