I pre-ordered this through Amazon last week at $29.96. After seeing your post, I looked into Amazon price policy, and according to it: “If your order enters the shipping process before the release date and the price is lowered on the release date, we will automatically refund your credit card for the difference between the price you were charged and the release-date price within 48 hours of the release date.”
Thanks for the heads up – I’ll be watching for my refund! 🙂

I also pre-ordered it and was really bummed when I saw this post. Hopefully we really do get refunds. Im not sure how it works with the whole “enters the shipping process before the release date” though. How do you know when it enters the shipping process?

@Whitney – I just checked my account and my order shows “Shipment #1: Shipped on September 24, 2012”, so that falls into the required “enters shipping process before release date”. Check your account, I bet it’s the same. I also sent an email to Amazon asking to verify that my refund would happen automatically… 🙂

I just checked my account and it still says shipping soon, but my credit card was charged $24.99 this morning, so who knows! I pre-ordered it at $29.96 also, so I’m already happy I got it cheaper than expected. A refund would just be icing on the cake!

I would definitely email them! I got a response to my email and it stated that “they don’t have a post-order policy, but he would make an exception”. My refund is now showing on my order…debating if I should reply and point out that my order falls into their Pre-Order Price Guarantee (and not Post-Order), therefore he isn’t making an exception! LOL! – or if I should just leave it alone and get my refund anyway 🙂

The real deal here is the digital copy. All the ones at blu-ray/dvd combos at the other stores for the exact same price do not include a digital copy and for our family, that is a must! I can’t wait to put it on my kindle! And shipping was free with my amazon student prime!! Thanks for the post!

I chatted with a support agent at Amazon today. They said the refunds should happen in the next one to two days.
So be patient, enjoy your movie. And in 2 days if you dont see any thing, then contact them.
