If you are signed up for Target’s Mobile Coupons you should have received a lovely text message this morning from Shopkick offering you a free $2.00 Target Gift Card. This gift card was for new and exisisting Shopkick app users. If you haven’t checked your messages you will want to and see if you received this deal.
However, if you are not signed up for mobile coupons and offers from Target there may still be a way for you to snag this freebie.
Head over to the Shopkick App and sign up for it, if you haven’t already. Once you sign up for the app you will want to type www.shopkick.com/targetsms into the address bar of your browser on your phone. Then click on “I have the Shopkick app.”
You will the be asked for the phone number you used when you signed up for the Shopkick app. Then your $2.00 Target Gift Card should load directly to the app.
What is Shopkick?
Shopkick is a free downloadable application for iPhone or Androids that automatically recognizes when you go into participating stores, including Target. You earn points called “kickbucks” for anything from entering the store to scanning select bar codes while there that you redeem for different rewards including Target Gift Cards. You will also get scannable Target Coupons which you can redeem at checkout.

I did the shopkick and the 2.00 shows up but Target didn’t know how to redeem it. It doesn’t give a barcode. Any suggestions?

It should show up next time you check in at Target. It says you must use within 24 days. I have redeemed several Target giftcards through shopkick. Once you click redeem, it shows up with a barcode. You hand your phone to the cashier and they scan it. It works really well.

Mine showed up with the barcode and I went to Target, but my local Target told me they won’t accept Shopkick gift cards..
