Ok, the 4th of July week is over and now the shelves are being cleared for the Back to School Sales!  This is the time to really stock up on everything that goes in your office for the ENTIRE YEAR.  And I’m not joking when I say that!  I always purchase enough Scotch tape to last me through Christmas, Birthdays and all of my little projects.  If you can think ahead and purchase when items are at their all-time low, you won’t ever have to pay full price when you run out.  It’s a hard way to think at first, but it becomes second nature.  And, your wallet will thank you later!!

  1. Melea–are these prices “stock up” prices? None of them were in red, so I wasn’t sure. Also, should we wait a little longer for back-to-school deals? Will there be even better ones as the summer goes on? Thanks.

    • OH, thats a good question! Sorry, I didn’t put them red. I think most of those are pretty good prices. We will see back to school sales for probably 3-4 weeks. Since everyone has their own buy price, if there is anything you think is a stellar price, buy a couple. Each year is a little different for stock up prices, and since it is the first week, Im not sure how much better they will get- although I hope they will!

  2. What is a good price for composition notebooks?

    • If you are talking about the black and white ones I would say 50 cent each.

  3. At Office Max, how do the Max Perks Rewards? Is the 6.28 amount for the paper given back instantly or is it something we mail in? Thanks!

    • So you have to sign up for their rewards card and each quarter they send you your rewards which is just in store credit (we get ours through e-mail). We buy things like paper when it’s on deal and then use our rewards to buy ink.

  4. In the Staples add, those prices that are .01 with a 5$ purchase does that mean in order to get all 3 items, will we need to spend $15, or just $5 and we can get all three? I haven’t seen the add, can you tell me if there is a limit on the add items? Thanks so much!!!

    • you should be able to spend $5 (probably pre-tax) then get all three of those deals. There is a limit of 2 per item on those 1 cent items.

  5. Crayon/school glue and Bic Round stic are limited to 2 items per person.

You will also have to buy other products to make $5 minimum purchase.

  7. At Staples they didn’t take the 5.00 off (coupon in ad) and I spent 32.00, when I called the manager he said that there may be items that don’t qualify, any instant savings?

    • That’s really strange. If it wasn’t in the exclusions listed on the coupon, they should have given you the discount. I would email Staples online and see what they say about it. You might have just had a stingy store manager.

  10. The deals out there were good. I went myself and got alot of my school supplies that were needed. For the $5 for the 1 cent items the items we bought were like glue and sissors. the 1 cent items were limit 2 each so I personaly split it into 3 transactions ( there were 3 of us shopping) so we could 6 of each item at 1 cent each. the office max glue sticks were sold out and the paper deal at stapes with the .25 cents was a mail in rebate they told us so we decided to wait on that.
