If you are planning a trip to Disneyland THIS year, you will want to make sure you read this entire post.

Disneyland just raised their prices… so much in fact that an average family will end up paying about $200 more just for Disneyland/California Adventure Tickets!  Honestly, I can’t believe that they are doing that in a down economy.  But, many are saying it is to make up for the 1 Billion addition of Cars Land in California Adventure.

But, we are REALLY Lucky!  Although Disney has already made the changes to their ticket prices, Get Away Today’s contract will let them sell the lower-priced tickets until June 7th!!  As long as you purchase the discounted tickets through Get Away Today by June 7th, you can use them through Dec 31st, 2012. So for all of you who were wanting to make a trip to Disneyland, this is the offer, you will definitely want to jump on!

Here is the breakdown of the price increase in tickets and what Get Away Today can still sell them for.  I think it is going to blow your mind with how big the price increase is:

Ticket Length Get Away Today’s Price Disneyland’s New Price Total Savings
3-Day  Park Hopper $211 $250 $39/Ticket!
4-Day Park Hopper $230 $275 $45/Ticket
5-Day Park Hopper $241 $290 $49/Ticket
6-Day Park Hopper $246 N/A after June 7 N/A after June 7

So, you will save anywhere from $39-$49 PER Ticket by purchasing ahead of time.

For those of you who want to travel to Disneyland, but don’t have the funds just lying around, Get Away Today does do a payment plan. Just pay a $50 flat fee and $125 down. Then, the balance of your Vacation Package or Ticket Package just has to be paid 3 weeks before you travel.

On top of all this information… (I know, your head is probably spinning right now)…. Get Away Today does have a Best Price, Best Service Guarantee.  So, you can get the best hotel prices through them.  If you do plan on purchasing a Vacation Package that includes a Hotel and these discounted Disneyland Tickets, use coupon code LastChance either on the phone or online to get an extra $10 off. (Expires May 30th) It isn’t a ton, but it will help!  I’m just glad that Get Away Today keeps giving us a discount.. because they don’t do that for anyone else!

So, talk to your spouse and see if Disneyland is in the cards this year!  If you haven’t had a chance to take your family yet, it really is one of the most Magical Places on Earth.  And, one of my favorite places to go!  I’m a Disney nut!

**Important:  I’m guessing that a lot of people haven’t heard about the Disneyland price increase. So, at the bottom of this post, you will see a little envelope (for email), Twitter button, Facebook Button and Pinterest Button.  By clicking any of those, you can share this post with your friends and family members.  PLEASE DO!  They only have a little bit of time to purchase the discounted tickets.

  1. With the new 3 Day pass price at $250, you minds well purchase the Southern California City Pass for $279 and get three additional theme parks on top of the 3 day pass to Disney. Crazy!

  2. does this just apply to Disneyland. Are DisneyWorld prices going up?

  3. This is very frustrating of Disney. As IF they don’t make enough already.

    • Seriously. $250 PER PERSON is unbelievable. It’s looking like our family is never going to go! How can people with a bunch of kids afford that?

      • I’m with you Kristy! I love my girls but buying 7 tickets for my family now… Man! By the time we save up for that trip the prices will go up again…

  4. My family is leaving next week for Disneyland. We just get on craigslist.org and get tickets for around $60/per person for a 1 day park hopper. I know this sounds shady, but we’ve done it and it works.

    • I’ve done this too and it’s great if you are going 2 days or less because it is so much cheaper. I bet those will go up too because they used to be $50/day last year.

      • Who is selling those tickets? I mean are they legitimate? That interests me, as long as we’d have no problems using them.

        • Just look up “Disneyland” under craigslist for Los Angeles, there are tons of tickets. Last time we met somebody in a parking lot at a hotel next to Disneyland, we took a picture of their car with their license plate number. They gave us 5 day park hoppers, but we only used them for 1 day, we met them in the park later that evening to give them back to them. We got into the parks just fine and met them at the Buzz Lightyear ride at 8 o’clock that evening. I think they may have taken my ID or some sort of collateral so they were covered. Anyway, I was very skeptical, but I’m also very cheap so I risked it and it paid off.

        • If these are the “share the multiple day” passes thing, well, I think my integrity is on the line if I use them as that is not the use they were intended for. Disney is watching this thing a lot more closely now, and I wouldn’t want to take the risk. Some of you have done this and it has worked for you, I wouldn’t, I value my integrity.
If this is not the case, then my apologies for assuming.

          • You are right Lyndie. Disney has buckled down on this. Not worth the risk in my opinion.

          • Don’t share tickets. We were asked for our ID last time (2011) to match the name on the tickets. Luckily we purchased them ourselves and all was well. I wouldn’t take the chance that it might ruin your entire vacation.

    • Disney is Florida now has you scan your fingerprint so that you cannot share your passes with anyone. Every time you enter or re-enter a park, you have to have your ticket AND your fingerprint.

  5. FYI…if you have an entertainment/happenings book you can buy tickets on their website @ http://www.entertainment.com and they are much cheaper. An adult 3 day park hopper is $193 and a child is $178, for a 5 day it is $223 and $202. If you want to just do one park per day it is 3 days adult $179 and child $167, 5 days $208/$189. Just thought I’d share an even better price!

    • How do you search for these tickets online?

  9. This makes me SO sad! We have a large family (5 kids) and will never be able to afford Disneyland now! I would love to do the Get Away today deal, but don’t have that kind of $$ right now.

    • Cheryl,

I am a travel agent and we have had some pretty awesome Disney deals in the past, and I’m guessing they will pop up again in the future (though I don’t expect to see anything until after summer season). The prices will increase, but there will always be amazing deals and specials so don’t be too discouraged! I think you are smart to realize you don’t have the funds right now. I NEVER encourage my clients to vacation without the money-I figure it will cause a bigger headache in the end!

  10. Hi! Yikes, Disney raising their prices again in this economy is just wrong! Buuuut, the prices you have listed are not totally correct. If you buy tickets at the gate prices, they are only going up around $25 dollars a ticket (still disgusting.) GetAway today has always sold tickets for less than gate price, but listed are the GetAway today BEFORE price, and the gate price AFTER. Just a thought.

    • Hi! I’m not sure what you mean.. the prices that I have listed were sent to me directly from Get Away Today. So, they should be correct. If they have other prices listed on the Get Away Today website, they are probably for tickets purchased now through May 28th. You can contact them if you have questions. Hopefully they can help!

  11. Just a tip to those who have school age kids: You can sign them up for classes at Disney (World and land), and everyone in your family gets discounted tickets to the park. We are talking HUGE discounts. I think we paid $155 each for a four day pass. It is through the YES program, and it is totally legit. Only one of your kids has to go to a class and one parent can go with them. Here is a link to the catalog of classes.
    https://www.disneyyouth.com/individual-enrollment/catalog/

We have only ever gone for one day because it is so expensive (we have four kids). But now that I found out about this program, we are going for four days in Oct. I was shocked that I had never heard of this program before because I am super cheap ;o)

PS. Just looked at the prices….and it looks like Disneyland tickets are a little more expensive than World (which is where we are going) BUT you can still get a FOUR day Park hopper ticket for $178!!!!!

    • this is a great deal! what happens, i wonder, if your child didn’t attend the course? Would you get billed any extra for missing the class?

      • I have no idea! I have heard that the classes are awesome though and a great experience.

  13. Just a reminder, if you are Military, you can get tickets through your base or at the gates at Disneyland (w/ appropriate military ID) for only $97.75. per ticket for the 3-Day Hopper! My family was just able to go and we were able to get 6 3-day hopper passes for only $97.50 each at the base. Then we checked at Disneyland at the gate and found out we could also get them there for $99.00 each. So, if you are Military getting them that was is DEFINITELY your best bet & will be way cheaper than anywhere else. Also, don’t forget to ask for a military discount when you book your hotel room as well. 🙂

  14. Just got back from Disneyland last week. We purchase 5 days from Get away today in March. While at the park last Sat. a worker alerted us to the price increase. We decided to upgrade our tickets to deluxe annual passes while there to get the cheaper (even annual passes went up)prices. Even before the price increase, it was a better deal to buy an annual pass then to go twice in the same year. With the price increase it makes it an even better deal. We have six in our family (one under 3), but wow the price does add up for tickets into the parks. We were lucky enough to afford this. We haven’t been in two years and wanted to go this spring, but then again in the fall after Cars land opens. I like to go during the week, during school when it is not so crazy. My kids are still in elementary school, so missing some school isn’t too big a deal. Heck, my husband and I may spend a few days there for our 15 year anniversary, no kids! Wahoo!

  15. What age does your child need a ticket to get into disneyland? Are there ages that are free?

  16. Can you get a 1 day single park pass through get away today? I just looked on disney.com a few days and they have gone up 7 dollars. GRRR…. I see all of the multiple day passes, but I just want a 1 day pass for disneyland.

  17. So glad you posted this, we are going in July! Going to get my passes now while they are cheaper.

  18. I am extremely disappointed in Disneyland, this is the second increase that I am aware of since the economy took a dump. I am currently a disneypass holder along with my children and grandchildren, I currently pay for 7 people, but when our passes come up for renewal we will not be renewing. I boycotted Disney in the past and will again, my pass is going up by $150.00. That is totally unacceptable…….

  19. i would like to state for the record that there is a pro and a con to this price raising issue:

pro: they make up the billion dollars they threw away for Cars Land

con: there is a possibility that the park would be less packed, which could hurt Disney’s economy rate.
