Important Update on your Target/Starbucks Gift Cards from Plum District!

Last week, you should have received an email from Plum District letting you know that your Target and Starbucks Gift Card orders were being refunded to you.  Unfortunately, it looks like Digital Doorstep (the company redeeming the cards) has filed for bankruptcy and cannot fulfill orders.

The refunds will show for the $20 Starbucks Gift Card & 2 Fandango Movie Tickets for only $28.00 and the $25 Target Gift Card and $50 Restaurant.com Gift Card for $25 deals.

If you log into your Plum District account, you should be able to see that they have already issued you a credit.  If you paid with your CC, you should see some sort of refund on there as well.

I was really excited to get this Target Gift Card Deal…. however, I will say that I am happy with how Plum District has handled the situation and refunded promptly before there was a massive panic attack.  It’s a lot better than what I have seen from other Daily Deal companies.

If you see any other daily deal site advertising a deal that needs to be redeemed through Digital Doorstep, steer clear. They won’t be able to fulfill your order and may not be as nice as Plum District in giving you your money back.

  1. Melea, have you heard anything about Savemore? I have been a little anxious because I have not received my Barnes and Noble card, and noticed on their facebook page many many people complaining of the same thing… I’m hoping the same thing has not happened to their company, I will not be ordering from them again.

  3. I received my email yesterday and my refund is already showing on plumdistrict. Plus, they gave me $5 plum dollars for the inconvenience. I think plumdistrict handled this unfortunate incident great.

  4. This is why I don’t do too many deals for vouchers and such anymore. I did City Deals last year and got ripped off around $50 because by time I could use the vouchers (just had a new baby), stores weren’t accepting them because City Deals hadn’t paid them. It had been more than a month so I couldn’t get my credit card to do anything about it. I was sad because I had gotten some fast food and bowling vouchers for cheap so that we could have family night. If I had known that would happen I would have never bought the vouchers because we didn’t have any money to just throw away.
