Starting Fresh in 2012 with Couponing! Who’s With Me??

When the Christmas deals start, a lot of the couponing deals get pushed to the side and well, we are focused on figuring out Christmas. But, now that a new year is almost here, I would really like to get back to the basics of couponing and saving money on the everyday stuff our families need like food and personal items.

I’m sure there are a lot of new Freebies2Deals readers who have never used a coupon before, and that is totally fine!  You might not be ready to start using coupons to save money… or maybe you are.  Either way, Freebies2Deals will still and always post everything from free samples and online deals to in-store and grocery deals!

And, if you are a little burned out from couponing, I totally understand!! I’ve been there multiple times and even wrote a post about it here that you might want to read.

I hope you guys are ready to get back into the swing of things and really start building a food storage/stockpile for your families. Having one, especially with all of the natural disasters that are hitting everywhere is one of the easiest and best ways to stay prepared.  Not to mention, it is great to never have to pay full price for things.  You will have your own little grocery store in a closet or in the basement of your home that you can shop at any time- you will be amazed at how much money using coupons will save your family! 🙂

So, who’s with me??  Are you ready to jump back in??  Or start for the first time?  I’ll be walking you through it from the very beginning of couponing to help everyone get re-freshed, excited and feeling comfortable and confident with their coupon skills!

  1. YES! Thank you so much for this. Due to financial difficulties with my husband’s job, we have almost depleted our entire storage downstairs. It was such a blessing to have when we needed it, but it needs to be restocked. 🙂

  10. Couponing is great.. I got tons of free stuff for Christmas presents this year because of coupons. Thank you for the time you put into your website, I appreciate it. Unfortunately I cannot take advantage of doubling couponing as there are no stores in northern Minnesota that double coupon…..

  13. I have been trying to keep on couponing but it seems like the deals on groceries and food items, especially ones that aren’t full of preservatives, are hard to find. Do you think that you could do a post about price points that you generally buy items at? Perhaps that is my problem; I’m expecting prices to be lower than they are. But it seems like stores like Smiths just aren’t having the sales they were having a year ago.
    Thanks Melea!

I love saving the money, but sometimes its takes so long to organize, go thru, and figure out if its even something i want, i just give up sometimes. I would love some organization tricks for someone with a already full schedule. so i can do couponing on a regular basis and not feel so overwhelmed

  20. Love the post about coupon burn out. I have experienced that recently but am ready to get back into it in January. Think instead of cutting every coupon, I am going to do the filing system. Cutting EVERY coupon is just too time consuming. I am excited to start again.

Also, I lost my hard drive and the majority of my couponing links. Could you refer me to a few coupon clippers?

However, I have four kids and I went back to work full time and have not been able to put the time into it that I need too. My husband has promised to give me a hour every night to focus on couponing to rebuild our stockpile. So, I am ready to make 2012 a year of savings and stockpiles!!!!

I can tell by my stockpile and extra money at the end of the month, but to know the dollar amount will be a great asset for me and my naysayer friends.

  63. I have a bright lime green zippered folder. I bring it with me everywhere when I am in the car. It draws attention when it is in the grocery cart. I get many comments, “oh you coupon”, “do you save money”, “I should start couponing”, “I watch that show..extreme couponing but they don’t tell you how to do it”. I always refer them to freebies2deals.
I do have quite a stash of items from soaps to t.p., p.t, shampoo, deodorant, etc. I also donate to the pantry at church, and a school. I just read an article today in our paper about a school that fills the kids backpacks on friday with food, so they know the kids will eat over the weekend. How sad.
In 2012 I want to do more and more couponing, from inserts in papers to copying on my printer. I wish everyone a Happy New Year and “Happy Couponing Ya’All!” GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
