Have Un-Wanted Gift Cards? Exchange them for Another Store or Get Cash!

A lot of people end up getting gift cards to places that they never shop as a Christmas Gift.   And, since you can’t head into the store and just ask for cash, there is another way to turn those un-wanted gift cards into something awesome!

There are two places you will want to check out to do so:

GiftCards.com:  You can either purchase discounted gift cards, or you can sell un-wanted gift cards.  For example, if I had a $25 Old Navy Gift Card I didn’t want, I could sell that to GiftCards.com right now and they would give me $20.75 in cash! -Which is way better than having it sit in my wallet and never get used.

PlasticJungle.com:  You can purchase discounted gift cards, sell un-wanted gift cards, or trade your gift cards for something else. So if you have an Old Navy Gift Card, but really wanted a Nordstrom Gift Card, you could check to see if Plastic Jungle had it in-stock and what it would take to do a trade.

If it were me, I would check both of these sites to see who will offer you the most cash for your gift cards. Or, who will give you the best deal at the time.  I’m sure it changes frequently depending on the number of stock each of them have.

And, depending on your gift card, you might not even have to mail it in.  Some of them can be redeemed electronically- which means you can get your cash faster!  Then, go buy something for yourself that you really wanted! 🙂

  2. Thanks. I’ve been meaning to google this…have a few $50 Shell I want to dump…only bought them to use with Kroger gas points (on advice from a money saver site) then found kroger won’t accept them. I had 800 kroger points for 80 cents off per gallon & was sooo excited. Shell stations will only give a max of 10 cents off with a kroger card and all the shells near me are already 12-18 cents higher per gallon than all other gas stations so I’d actually lose money to buy gas at shell.

The first site offered $45.00 & the 2nd site 46.20 each. I really had been afraid those type sites would only offer half the card value. I actually only paid $40 for each $50 card on a deal at Publix.
