Yesterday, I asked you guys to let me know what questions you had about Black Friday since I know it easy to be confused.  Here are some of the top questions and answers:

How will the items be dispursed at Walmart on Black Friday and Thanksgiving Night?

  • I’ve learned from a “Walmart insider” that the way Black Friday is done this year will be completely different than it has been done in the past.  In the past, they had different crates set up with plastic covering them.  Then, at the allotted times, employees would take off the plastic and it was first come, first serve for the items underneath.  It can be pretty brutal!
However, this year, you will want to make sure you print out the Walmart Store Map. It will show you where the hot ticket items will be on their crates at your store.  Each crate will have 3 employees stationed there to hand out tickets.
For example, if your Walmart is only handing out 30 Nintendo Wii’s they will let the people know in line if they are one of the first 30 people and are guaranteed a Wii.  Anyone after that mark will be told that they may not get one.  Then, when the items are released at their designated time, they will be handed out by the Walmart Employees to the first people in line until they are gone. So for those of you worried about the 10pm Thanksgiving Time vs. the Midnight Black Friday Time… this will help a bunch of people get in two lines.. one for Toys at 10pm and one for Electronics at Midnight. And, it should cut down on pushing and shoving!

Is there a set time when stores will be starting their online deals? and will they be the same deals as in the store on Black Friday?- Christina

  • Online deals usually start in the early morning hours on Black Friday.  Unfortunately, most stores do not advertise what time they will start. And, if they do, it is usually last minute.   To give you an idea, Walmart’s Online Black Friday deals have gone live around 2:00am MST in the past. (4:00am EST) So, no.  For the most part, we have no idea when the online deals will start.  So, you have to be watching.  And, they do not advertise which of their hot in-store deals will also be featured online- just that there will be online Black Friday deals.  It’s a total guessing game. Makes it hard, I know!

Will walmart match black friday gift card deals? Fred Meyer has the Wii $149.99 get a $50 gift card- Ashley

Can I shop the sales at toys r us online?

  • As with all of the online black friday deals, they aren’t really advertised.  So, all stores…even ToysRus could have some of the same deals available online as in-store.  But you won’t know until Black Friday, unless they decide to make an official annoucement.  There is no way to know which items will be featured online and which won’t.

What is your experience shopping black Friday on amazon? Is it really hard and stressful to actually get what you want or does everything sell out too quickly?- Mandy

  • Let me just say that I NEVER shop at an actual store on Black Friday.  I do all of my shopping online on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  The deals aren’t usually advertised, but you can find some pretty awesome deals popping up online… especially on Amazon. Getting Free Shipping with Amazon Prime rocks too. Most of the prices you see advertised for Black Friday in-store deals, will pop up for a similar price online at least once before Christmas time.  That doesn’t mean that a few of the hot deals may not drop in price. Because that can happen too. But the majority of items usually go on sale again. Hot items do go fast.  But I try my hardest to get those posted as soon as I see them so you can all grab them before they are gone.

Where did you see the sales already? I thought you couldnt see it before thursday?- Nathalie

  • You can see leaked versions of the Black Friday ads now on a bunch of websites.  My favorite is Black-Friday.netThe actual Black Friday ads will show up in the Thanksgiving Day Paper. (Keep in mind that the leaked versions are un-official and could change before the final ad is released officially)

You said Walmart will price match black friday ads. Some places open later than Walmart, do I have to wait for other stores to open before Walmart will price match?- Jessica

  • Yes, Walmart will price match Black Friday ads from other stores as long as they follow the Walmart Price Matching Policy.  However, everything on the ads are VERY specific.  So, if ToysRus has a deal starting at Midnight and it is advertised that way, you cannot Price Match that deal at Walmart UNTIL it reaches Midnight.  So, Walmart can only price match when the sale starts at the other store.  This will more than likely be the same for just about every store that price matches too.

Do any online stores  (like Amazon) price match black Friday deals?  If so, how do you do it?- Josie

  • Amazon does not have an official price matching policy.  However, for last few years they have changed their prices online to reflect those hot Black Friday prices. So, you can’t email Amazon asking them to Price Match for you.  Just watch their site for deals on those items and you will see many of them dropping left and right to compare to the in-store black friday sales.  If you don’t see what you want, you might want to wait for Cyber Monday.

Is there a list where we can see CyberMonday deals?- Alitha

  • I wish!!  I am starting to get a heads up about what discounts stores are offering because they are emailing me.  But, since online prices can change at any time- it’s hard to know what those prices will be.  So, as of right now, there isn’t any information on exactly what deals will be available for Cyber Monday.  All I know is that it is my busiest day of the year for posting deals.  So, just stick with me and I will do my best to let you know about them all as soon as I find out!

Will the hot online deals be posted on the freebies2deals facebook page or here on freebies2deals.com?- Anna

  • All of the HOT Online deals will be posted on Freebies2Deals.com.  Depending on how crazy it gets, they might not all get posted on the Freebies2Deals Facebook page.  There is only one of me. ;)  So, the safe bet is to keep refreshing Freebies2Deals.com.

Hopefully that answers the Majority of your questions everyone!  Remember, I’ve compiled a list of the BEST Black Friday Deals here.  That way, you can see which store has the best price on certain items.

  1. Melea, could you please tell me if I need to buy today’s newspaper or tomorrow’s newspaper to see what all the deals are or both? I’d rather go through the ads physically then online. Thanks, Tracie

  6. Hello,

I was wondering if you know if Wal-Mart would accept coupons on things that are marked down for Black Friday? For example: I was at Del Taco recently and on the kids meal bag was a coupon for $3 off the new X-Men First Class movie. Wal-Mart has it marked down for Black Friday for $5. Would they honor that coupon so I could get it for $2?

    Thank you,
